Join us for the Jags vs. Texans Tailgate on Sept 21st! ๐Ÿˆ The Speech & Hearing Center was founded in 1949 as one of the first speech and hearing centers to serve children in Northeast Florida. In 1948, there were no services in the Jacksonville area for children with hearing or speech problems, although hearing, speaking and understanding the spoken language are essential components to a child's growth and development. For more than 70 years, the Center has provided professional, compassionate care to thousands of children and adults on the First Coast, providing them with the necessary communication tools to live a more fulfilling and productive life.

๐Ÿ‚ This Fall, weโ€™re excited to welcome three outstanding interns to the Jacksonville Speech & Hearing Center!

Each semester, we open our doors to students who are eager to learn, grow, and gain hands-on clinical experience in health sciences and public health.

Providing mentorship and practical skills application is one of the ways we help future professionals solidify their studies while making a meaningful impact in our community.

๐‘ฉ๐’๐’Š๐’”๐’” ๐‘บ๐’‚๐’๐’…๐’†๐’“๐’” (UNF, Interdisciplinary Health Studies) is eager to build her critical thinking and communication skills while engaging with patients and learning how a family-based clinic provides compassionate care.

๐‘ฒ๐’‚๐’•๐’๐’†๐’š๐’‚ ๐‘ช๐’‚๐’ˆ๐’‚๐’š๐’‚๐’ (UNF, Public Health) is excited to work alongside our speech-language pathologists and hopes to gain experience supporting patients from diverse backgrounds both in the clinic and in schools.
