It’s been a whirlwind of a beginning to the year. Part of that whirlwind has been the start of my position as Chairman of the Ob/Gyn Department at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville (Downtown) for 2026 and 2027. It’s a position that I have spent the last two years readying myself for and am eager to represent our speciality well while continuing our work to improve the care of all of our patients. Thank you to those who have and continue to teach and support me along the way! Baptist Health Jacksonville River City OBGYN

Evidence does not show Tylenol as a cause of autism. When genetics are taken into account, any effect disappeared. That’s what good research does. It controls for variables.

Tylenol is still safe to take in pregnancy.

ACOG reaffirms the safety and benefits of acetaminophen use during pregnancy.
More than two decades of research have found no causal link between acetaminophen use during pregnancy and autism, ADHD, or intellectual disability in children. Acetaminophen continues to be an important and safe option for managing pain and fever in pregnancy—conditions that can pose serious risks to pregnant patients and their fetuses if left untreated. A well designed study in 2024 showed no link between Tylenol and autism or ADHD. This study actually controlled for variables where previous had not. Correlation IS NOT causation.

I agree! My patients get all the options. Want to induce? Cool, let’s look at dates. Want to wait for labor? Great! Let’s talk about what that looks like and how long is safe to wait. And it is okay if you change your mind on either!

The universe knew my spirits needed lifting today and I think my patients conspired to make it so. Multiple patients today just had the kindest things to say to me and my heart swelled the whole day. ❤️ What we do is tough, but the rewards are unmatched. Thankful to be there through both the hardest and best times for my patients.
