✨ Resident Spotlight! ✨

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Karyn grew up with two brothers, one older and one younger. A cherished childhood memory is skiing in Colorado with her school. She attended Flagler College and built a successful career as a global IT executive for Mercer Ink.

What she loves about Brooks is the therapy and the kindness of the people. She came to Brooks following arm and leg surgery, seeking expert care and support.

✨ Resident Spotlight! ✨

Jack grew up in Fairmont, West Virginia, with his two sisters. After a year of college, he joined the Air Force and served in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Jack returned home as a mining company salesman and kept up his love for radio and sports as a part-time announcer.

He has five children in his blended family and has been married for over 40 years. In retirement, Jack enjoys golf and time with family, grateful for lasting connections and new memories.

✨ Resident Spotlight ✨

Louise, originally from Auburn, Alabama, grew up with her sister, Betty, and has lived a life filled with memorable experiences. One highlight was meeting Roy Rogers and his wife, Dale, at a concert.

She and her husband raised three children, and at 54, Louise earned her bachelor’s degree in art from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. She also worked at an ophthalmologist’s office for 33 years.

A dedicated quilter, Louise has created more than 150 quilts over the past 12 years. Now, she enjoys being part of her new community, sharing that “everyone is so nice and patient.”

✨ RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT! ✨

Helga was born in Solingen, Germany. As an only child, she had a fun-filled childhood with her parents. She attended high school and college in Solingen before marrying her husband.

Helga enjoys knitting and sewing, creating clothes and quilts for others. One of her proudest achievements is working for a law firm for 30 years.

When it came time to find a place to live with a little assistance, a friend recommended Bartram Lakes. After doing some research, Helga decided this was the perfect choice. She said, “I made a great choice. The facility and people are beautiful.”
