Every 11 seconds, an older adult is seen in the emergency department for a fall related injury. The good news is that many falls are preventable.
As we recognize Fall Prevention Week, Community Hospice & Palliative Care encourages older adults and their families to take proactive steps, from exercise and medication reviews to home safety and regular vision checks.

At Eastside Long Term Care Facility, our Community Hospice & Palliative Care Volunteer Department had the privilege of honoring two remarkable Veterans through heartfelt pinning ceremonies.

We recognized 1st Lieutenant William “Bob” Kuhn, U.S. Army, and 1st Lieutenant Richard Matacia, U.S. Air Force, for their dedicated service to our nation. Each ceremony was led by our Marine Corps veteran volunteer, Bob Atwood, whose words and presence brought added meaning to the occasion.

It was a true honor to celebrate these heroes, expressing our deepest gratitude for their service and sacrifice.
