Please be aware our office will be closed tomorrow due to road conditions. Please do your best to stay home, off the roads and stay safe! We plan to reopen Tuesday, Feb 3rd with normal operating hours.

✨ Important Insurance Update ✨

We want to share an important update with our community: Bella Donna Midwifery will be accepting TriCare insurance again.

Why now?
Over the past several weeks, we have received an overwhelming number of calls from pregnant mothers who are stressed, scared, and urgently seeking care due to the ongoing challenges currently being addressed with the Naval Hospital. Hearing the fear and uncertainty in these families’ voices has been incredibly difficult and impossible to ignore.

For seven years, Bella Donna Midwifery proudly accepted TriCare before making the heartbreaking decision to terminate our contract after facing severe and unsustainable struggles, which we stand by as these are the same challenges that many healthcare providers are still navigating.

We have been deeply touched by the loyalty and support shown by so many families who continued their care with us despite insurance barriers. Your trust means more to us than words can express. That said, it has been devastating to watch military families pay out of pocket for care they desire and that should be covered by their insurance.

After extensive consideration, many conversations, and careful planning, we have found a middle ground that allows us to better support our clients while remaining operationally sustainable.

Bella Donna Midwifery will now accept TriCare as a non-network participating provider.
This change will significantly lower out-of-pocket costs for our clients.

While this is not the final outcome we ultimately want, & our long-term goal remains full, fair, and sustainable insurance contracts with all insurers, including TriCare, it is a step forward. And it is a fight we will continue to advocate for.

In the meantime, although this decision still represents a financial hit to our practice due to poor reimbursement, our clients’ ability to access the care they desire matters more to us.
