Dr. Elyssa Blissenbach initially began her career 30 years ago in primary care. Several years later she experienced a pivotal and challenging encounter with a patient in her practice who was to forever alter her path. This patient was also a medical provider in the community and she was critically ill with Lyme disease. It was then clear that her passion for helping patients needed to expand to those suffering from Lyme disease and its confections…the patients that had been misdiagnosed, overlooked and simply dismissed by the medical community. At that point she was compelled to dive deeper into the world of chronic tick-borne illnesses. Over the past 10 years, she has dedicated herself fully to this specialty, developing a highly personalized, investigative approach informed by extensive research and close observation of complex patient cases.
Dr. Blissenbach is a LLMD (Lyme Literate Medical Doctor) and is at the forefront of Lyme disease following protocols from leading experts such as Dr Horowitz, Dr. Rawls, Dr. Marty Ross, and many others. She regularly attends ILADS conferences, is a member of ILADS and is actively working toward ILADS certification.
