Merry Christmas. Clicker training is paying off! Also I don't think I ever introduced our newest one-eyed addition (cat 2 on the right), Misthunter.

Help Ophthalmology win this year's intra-department wreath decorating contest. Post or send me a photo of your pet with a short line about how we (hopefully) helped them; if I can find the time this weekend I'll print them out and hang them on the wreath. Going for the heartstrings vote this year! Photo of last year's "effort" attached... 🧐

Well we're halfway through Vet Tech Week and I'm a little late in posting due to being home with sick kids this week (now sick myself!), but we did make our annual poster! This has been another incredibly challenging year for veterinary medicine, possibly the hardest so far, and our technicians, assistants, and support staff are the ones that keep us together and semi-functioning. In ophthalmology alone you'll have seen a lot of new faces as we've trained many new people this year but continue to run with a skeleton crew. The pandemic has exposed systemic issues in veterinary medicine (and many professions) that will take years to unravel and correct. But I am hopeful that lessons have been learned and the future is bright. So to those that devote their lives to relieve animal suffering, I see you and I celebrate you.

One year with this sweetheart of a butter-loving cat. Seriously don't feed your cat butter, sometimes she's just too fast for us.

I'm guessing that video of this rabbit and squirrel playing together is what you need today.

Mossflower spent about 35 minutes by the sink watching ice melt this morning. Which was amusing to me until I realized I spent about 10 minutes watching her watching the ice melt.

The KodiakCare fund helps with expenses for those clients that receive Angell Financial Aid but are still short funds to pay for their pet’s care. Together with the KodiakCare fund, Angell has helped over 100 dogs and their families in the past year.

They give their all to our pets, despite mental health struggles in the the field. But vets get shockingly little in their return.
