GRIEF & PRAISE Community Workshop THIS SUNDAY APRIL 12 | 1:30 - 3:30 PM with
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Grief is not only about loss.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It can show up through life transitions, relationship changes, identity shifts, and the collective challenges we are all navigating. Marlene created Grief & Praise as a space for people to rest, reflect, and be held in community while tending to these experiences.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is not a yoga movement / asana practice - it is a gathering for conversation, stillness, and shared presence.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Join Marlene to welcome the coexistence of grief and praise.
Allow light to move through the places that feel heavy.
Make room for joy in the midst of grieving.
Move at your own pace.
Grief does not need to be rushed, processing takes the time it takes.

Spring is in the air, and so is the wisdom of Yin! ✨🌿
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Join this Saturday 3/28 from 6-8PM for a two-hour journey into deep nourishment and renewal. Explore a full body Yin experience rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, focusing on the Liver and Gallbladder channels, to regulate the wood element and bolster personal vision, creativity, and growth.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Suitable for experienced yin yoga practitioners and first timers alike, you can expect extra time with familiar poses from weekly classes, as well as the opportunity to explore more complicated poses rarely offered in a shorter practice setting. The workshop will culminate in a rejuvenating extended Savasana to fully absorb the benefits.

THIS SUNDAY March 29 | 1:30–3:00PM is offering her seasonal Prenatal Partner Yoga - a 90-minute workshop designed to offer care, connection, and practical tools for this time of transformation.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pregnancy is a unique and tender chapter, both physically and emotionally. Through the body changes and shifting needs, the yoga practice can become and remain a steady, supportive anchor.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Through shared movement, breath, and simple partner practices, pregnant people and their partners will explore ways to feel more grounded and connected during pregnancy - and prepare for the early stages of labor together.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Partners can be spouses, friends, family members, or anyone in your support system. All are welcome.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And a reminder: Jill also teaches our weekly Prenatal Yoga class — Saturdays 1:30–2:45PM!

“The fewer attachments we carry with us, the more we are free to enjoy and engage and live every moment before us to the fullest. The more breath we let go of, the more room there is in our body for the fullness of the next inhalation. The more we generously share and give away, the more expansive and light we become. The journey of life is towards freedom. A bird cannot hold its perch and fly. Neither can we grasp anything and be free.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Join us for our free monthly book club meet up to discuss The Yamas & Niyamas - a spiritual guide to the practice of yoga exploring the first two limbs of the eight-fold path of yoga sutras. Foundational to all yogic thought, the Yamas and Niyamas are considered to be the guidelines to the yoga way of living that free individuals to take ownership of their lives, direct them toward the fulfillment they seek, and gain the skills to choose attitude, thought, and action.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
SUNDAY March 29th 6:15-7:45 PM
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Can’t make it this month? You can join us for our next book -The Heart of Yoga: Developing a Personal Practice by T. K. V. Desikachar on Sunday May 3rd.

Touch, when offered with care and consent, can be one of the most powerful tools in a yoga teacher’s toolkit.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This weekend, Brenna Matthews and Einat Peled-Katz lead a Hands-On Assisting Training for teachers who want to deepen their skill, sensitivity, and confidence in offering supportive touch.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Hands-on assists can illuminate alignment, enhance proprioception and body awareness, and help students feel more supported and empowered in their practice. In a world where many of us are starved for safe, consent-based touch, learning how to offer it thoughtfully matters.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This experiential training emphasizes clear communication, consent, and skillful listening, with plenty of partner practice so teachers can explore what assisting actually feels like — both giving and receiving — with feedback from experienced facilitators.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Teachers will leave with:
• a deeper understanding of consent-based touch
• practical assisting skills for different class styles
• greater confidence connecting with students through hands-on support
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A meaningful weekend of learning, practice, and community for teachers committed to thoughtful, embodied instruction.

Are you ready to lay down? — Restorative Sound Meditation is this Saturday 7:15 - 8:30 PM with
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In a season when so much asks us to keep moving, this offering is an invitation to do the opposite — to slow down, soften, and rest in community.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Join this Saturday evening for her newest monthly offering - Restorative Sound Meditation - a candlelit evening designed to support deep nervous system settling and quiet return to the body.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Through supported restorative postures, gentle guidance, and immersive sound vibration, you’ll be invited into stillness — a space where the breath slows, the mind softens, and the body can receive the rest it’s been asking for.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
No effort, no striving. Just space to be held by sound, stillness, and community.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Come as you are. Bring whatever you’re carrying. Leave a little lighter. 🕯️

Yoga doesn’t begin or end with shapes, but with relationship — to ourselves, to one another, to the world.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Rooted in the Yamas with Nikki McMaster-Martorano is a gentle, grounding exploration of yoga’s ethical foundations — the Yamas — practiced not as theory, but as lived experience.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Through breath, reflection, and intentional movement, we’ll explore what it means to:
soften harm, meet truth, move from enoughness, honor our energy, and loosen the grip of striving.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
No performance. No perfection. Just presence.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This workshop is for anyone curious about deepening their practice beyond asana and engaging yoga as a philosophical, relational tradition — one that asks not just how we move, but how we live.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Includes a take-home workbook and an optional 15-minute follow-up check-in with Nikki to continue the conversation.

Starting in 2024, 100% of the teacher and studio profits from our Tuesday 6 PM class with were donated to supporting medical evacuations and humanitarian aid for Palestinians. Together, we raised $20,000. As we transition this class back to a regular mixed-level offering, we want to acknowledge what this community made possible. Your practice and your care extended far beyond the walls of the studio. We recognize that humanitarian conditions remain dire in Gaza and the West Bank, and that the need for safety, dignity, and freedom is ongoing. While this particular fundraising chapter is closing, our commitment to collective liberation does not end here.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Yoga is, at its heart, a science of liberation. It teaches us not only how to love one another but that we are each other. This leaves no one outside of our circle of care.

We’re thrilled to welcome guest teacher Miles Borrero for two special offerings — a heart-opening evening of Kirtan and an embodied, deeply supportive fascia self-massage workshop — later this month.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🎶 Kirtan with Miles Borrero + Justin Green | Saturday February 28th 7:30-9:00 PM
In a time when so much pulls us apart, gathering in song can be a powerful act of connection. Kirtan is a traditional yogic practice of call-and-response chanting that invites us to use our voices, listen deeply, and experience collective presence. Through rhythm, music, and storytelling, this practice supports meditation, soothes the nervous system, and nurtures a profound sense of belonging. All are welcome — including kiddos — and no experience is needed.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌀 Fascia Embodied: Self-Massage Using Yoga Props | Sunday March 1st 1:00-3:00 PM
Movement supports our bodies in so many ways — and sometimes adding intentional self-massage can create even more space, relief, and resilience. In this accessible, all-levels workshop, Miles will guide participants through effective self-massage techniques using familiar yoga props, working along fascial pathways to support mobility, ease tension, and invite breath into places that need care. Expect thoughtful, methodical exploration paired with functional movement to help integrate the work.

“Real life is the present moment—not the memories of the past which is dead and gone, nor the dreams of the future which is not yet born. One who lives in the present moment lives the real life, and he is happiest.”
