Venture House Venture House is dedicated to the wellness and recovery of people living with mental illness. Members and staff work side-by-side to run the organization.

Venture House is a non-profit organization located in Queens and Staten Island New York. Since 1988 Venture House has been dedicated to providing a range of high quality services to adults diagnosed with mental illness to live and work successfully in the community, independently and with dignity. To date, Venture House has provided services to over 1,000 members. There are over 300 active members, ages 18 and up, with an average daily attendance of 70. Members are involved in all aspects of our business, from building maintenance to hiring staff, making policy decisions and membership on the Board of Directors. Through engagement and work, Venture House is strongly committed to member empowerment and combating stigma. At Venture House, opportunities begin with real work at the Clubhouse. The Clubhouse offers a choice of services that meet members’ life goals. These include:
- involvement in on site work and programming
- transitional & independent employment
- housing program
- connection to other community based services
- social and recreational activities
- access to educational advancement
- advocacy & public benefits assistance
- wellness education and opportunities

Today, we honor the strength, stories, and connections that make healing possible.Members and staff from Venture House came together for a pop-up activity at Prospect Park connecting with the community, raising awareness, and sharing stories of hope and recovery. It was more than an event ,it was a celebration of hope, recovery, and the power of human connection.
Every smile, every conversation, every moment reminded us why this work matters because when we show up for one another, healing begins.

The World Mental Health Day is tomorrow! Clubhouses around the world are hosting events highlighting the power of at the Clubhouse. Here’s what’s happening at Venture House:

Venture House organized a pop-up activity at Prospect Park, where members and staff came together to raise awareness, connect with the community, and celebrate the importance of mental health. (Stay tuned — the video will be released tomorrow!)

A Food Pantry will be held to share resources and meals with the community — a simple yet powerful reminder that connection begins with care.

Members will take part in “Chalk the Walk”, creating inspiring messages of hope and encouragement in front of our Clubhouse.

A Wellness Workshop will bring members and staff together for mindfulness, medication awareness, and grounding exercises to strengthen mental well-being.

A Community Connection Board will also be displayed, inviting people from the community to share what connection mean to them.

Each initiative reflects our belief that connection is at the heart of recovery and together, we continue to show how every day at Venture House.

Venture House joined The Alliance for Rights and Recovery 43rd Annual Conference, where staff and members participated in a panel discussion alongside Fountain House and Hudson Valley Clubhouse. The discussion focused development, and partnerships that strengthen community connection through the Clubhouse model.

Faqueni Ravel, Director of Venture House Bronx, shared strategies for RFP development and insights on establishing our new Bronx Clubhouse, reflecting Venture House’s ongoing growth and commitment to expanding recovery opportunities.

A group of 26 Venture House staff and members attended the conference, and one member proudly participated in the Annual Diversity Bash & Fashion Show, celebrating creativity and inclusion.

This World Mental Health Day, highlights the powerful role that human connection plays in mental health recovery. At Venture House, connection is more than a conversation. It’s the beginning of friendship, belonging, and hope. Every day we see how these bonds create safe spaces where people rediscover their strengths, support one another, and take steps toward recovery.

Friendship is the heartbeat of our Clubhouse community. It shows us that healing doesn’t happen in isolation , it happens when we walk alongside each other.
