Every youth exhibitor that plans to show a MARKET BEEF must complete this survey form for each market beef animal they are bringing to the December 6, 2025, Greene County Jr. Fair Market Beef Weigh-In. The survey MUST be completed and submitted by December 5, 2025. The link to the Qualtrics form is https://osu.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_diIkyeKX0oJWozY

Important Notes:

This survey will be used by the Beef Committee to COMPLETE the 2026 Greene County Jr. Fair Market Beef tag-in information and put the EID tag with the steers/heifers.
You will still need to complete Fair Entry due by July 1.
Homegrown forms, if applicable, must be completed and turned in at weigh-in. Link to download the formhttps://greene.osu.edu/sites/greene/files/imce/Program_Pages/4H/Livestock/homegrown%20form%20updated-%20fillable%20for%20website.pdf
All market beef animals must come to the weigh-In on Saturday, December 6, 2025, between 9 AM-11 AM, on the Greene County Fairgrounds. Only beef that are identified, tagged, and weighed at this weigh-in will be allowed to show and sell at the fair. Exhibitors are allowed to tag-in 4 market animals but can only show or bring 3 market beef to fair. Exhibitors may sell 1 of the qualifying animals.

All exhibitors planning on entering the Ohio State Fair will need to have a DNA hair sample turned into the Ohio State Fair office by January 15, 2026. NO requests will be taken after Jan. 2 and all requests must be in writing via email to Andrea Hershey. THIS IS NOT A POST MARK DATE! Youth interested must contact Andrea Hershey, The Ohio State Fair, 717 East 17th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43211 to receive information on how to take this DNA sample. Her email is a.hershey@expo.ohio.gov to request information. This must be signed by our office if a 4-H project or your FFA instructor if this is a FFA project prior to this date. We will not have the materials needed here at the County Extension Office. For state fair eligibility, the project must be carried in the county by being registered in the project by enrollment deadline (April 1). We will have a limited number of kits available at weigh-in.

The Beef Committee will be charging $5.00 per animal. Please be prepared to pay this fee at tag-in.
