🟡 Tuesday Tip: Love Your Voice 🟡
Your voice is your most powerful tool—are you treating it like one? Whether you’re a teacher, a performer, or just want to keep your vocal cords healthy, check out these quick Vocal Hygiene DOs and DON’Ts:
✅ DO:
💧 Hydrate: Drink plenty of water to keep vocal cords lubricated.
🫁 Belly Breathe: Use your diaphragm for a supported, strong sound.
🤫 Vocal Rest: If your voice feels tired, give it a break!
🚫 DON’T:
📢 Strain: Avoid shouting or trying to talk over loud background noise.
☕ Dehydrate: Watch the excess caffeine and acidic foods that can cause irritation.
🗣 Throat Clear: Habitual clearing is harsh on your cords—try a "silent cough" or a sip of water instead!

Reading success doesn’t come from luck. It comes from structure. 📚✨

Jen uses an Orton-Gillingham–based reading program to help kids truly learn how to read—not guess.

Many children struggle because reading was taught in bits and pieces. They may memorize words or guess from pictures, but decoding never fully clicks. Over time, reading feels hard. Confidence drops. 😔

Orton-Gillingham is different.

It is clear, step-by-step, and predictable.
🔹 Sounds and letters are taught directly
🔹 Skills build in the right order
🔹 Lessons move at the child’s pace
🔹 Nothing is rushed or skipped

Kids learn why words work the way they do. Guessing fades. Reading starts to make sense. Confidence grows. 🌱📖

This approach is especially helpful for K–5 students who struggle to sound out words, avoid reading, read slowly, or make frequent errors—even when they seem bright and capable.

Reading shouldn’t feel like a mystery. With the right system and the right support, it can finally click.
