Tim Perry, LCSW, LMFT Appoints New Head Administrator, Rachel Dunn, MSW, LCSW Of CrossRoads Counseling Center
CrossRoads Counseling Center is excited to announce a leadership transition that has been happening over the past few months. Tim Perry, LCSW, LMFT, has been a longtime administrator, therapist, and foundational figure of the practice. He has promoted Rachel Dunn, MSW, LCSW, as the new Clinic Administrator. This transition will allow him more time to devote to providing counseling to his clients and continue in his role as Chief Operating Officer.
Tim, who began his tenure at CrossRoads in 1988, is a graduate of UW–Madison and has dedicated his career to serving individuals, families, and youth across southern Wisconsin. His specialty areas include trauma, adolescent issues, codependency/recovery (ACOA), and marriage and family therapy. He began his work in school social work with emotionally disturbed adolescents and special education populations. Since 1999, he has served as the Administrator of CrossRoads Counseling Center, been instrumental in program development, furthering the mission of the clinic and overseeing clinical supervision for the Substance Use and Mental Health Services Programs. He has also been a driving force in growing the clinic and expanding services to Dane County in the creation of two CrossRoads Counseling Center Clinics in Sun Prairie, WI.
Tim is credentialed in EMDR Level II, trained in TF-CBT, and teaches trauma-focused courses at UW–Whitewater. He continues to maintain a caseload, co-facilitate therapy groups, and will remain actively involved in mentoring and supporting the leadership transition at the clinic.
Rachel Dunn, MSW, LCSW, has been appointed as Head Administrator and will assume leadership of day-to-day operations at the clinic. Rachel is a graduate of UW–Whitewater (BSW, 2005) and George Williams College of Aurora University (MSW, 2009). She began her career in child welfare, investigating abuse and neglect, and quickly developed a deep passion for working with children and families. After beginning her own family and pursuing her graduate education, Rachel expanded her scope into adult mental health, eventually finding a way to combine her passions for child welfare and clinical work.
Rachel is trained in EMDR, Brainspotting, Comprehensive Resource Model, Deep Brain Reorienting and TF-CBT. Outside of her administrative duties, she provides outpatient mental health therapy, specializing in trauma-informed care. She enjoys working with children and families from diverse backgrounds and individuals across the lifespan. She has a strong dedication to providing services to first responders to assist them in continuing to provide the important roles they serve in our community.
In addition to her clinical role, Rachel supervises the CrossRoads' intern and training license programs and leads various community trainings. She also holds a Long-Term Lecturer appointment at the Sandra Rosenbaum School of Social Work at UW–Madison for the past 10 years, serves on the Board of Directors for GIFTS Men’s Shelter, and is an active member in numerous other community initiatives. In her free time, she contributes to academic journals and textbook publications in the social work and mental health fields.
“Tim has poured his life into this practice and the people we serve,” said Rachel Dunn. “His dedication to servant leadership has created a culture of clinical excellence and compassionate care. I am honored to learn from him and to carry forward his legacy of intentional, relationship-driven mental health support that has been monumental in the health and wellness of all of those in our community”.
This transition marks an exciting new era for CrossRoads Counseling Center. Rachel, along with her colleagues and the leadership team of David Kohlmeyer, LPC and Will Shilts, LPC are energized by what is ahead and ready to meet the evolving needs of our community.
The entire CrossRoads Counseling Center family expresses deep gratitude to Tim and great confidence in Rachel and the leadership team as the practice continues its mission of hope and healing.
