Had someone ask the other day:

"Second day of fasting. This is easier than I thought. I heard that supplements don’t work well if you don’t eat. Is this true?"

My professional answer is this:

It all depends on what and when you're eating. Personally, I fast all day and only eat dinner. Which is from scratch and clean foods. I also take supplements, however you need to be very aware of the brand you're taking and how your supplements are processed/made. The supplement market is just big pharma in disguise so when you're supplementing vitamins that your body is deficient of you have to be mindful of what you actually need and again, how the supplements you're using are derived and made. Most grocery store food now is stripped or deficient of the very nutrients and vitamins we're meant to get from them, hence our bodies deficiency. Our body's weren't built for a lot of food intake and the foods we put in need to be effective in our nutrition. Supplementing without the dead foods isn't a bad thing, supplementing in addition to nutrition foods can only be more beneficial. You have to look at the process as a whole.
