MOVEMENT IS MEDICINE
Movement is so important for your physical and mental health, along with reducing your risk of chronic diseases. Regular exercise can increase longevity, improve mood and sleep quality, positively impact cardiovascular health, and increase bone density and muscle strength (crucial for mobility and proprioception). Regular physical activity has also been seen to lower your risk of heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and certain types of cancer.
It’s recommended that adults need 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity a week. This can involve walks, running, weight lifting, yoga, group classes, etc.
