Mercyhealth is launching a new Medical Assistant (MA) Education Program this summer to support career growth and clinic staffing needs.

This 16-week program offers eligible participants the opportunity to be hired by Mercyhealth, complete MA training, sit for certification, and transition into MA roles within our clinics.

Eligibility requirement: Applicants must already hold a CNA certification to qualify.

“LLLDAM highlights the nearly six million Americans with limb loss and limb difference. Increasing awareness drives action and helps ensure patients have access to essential resources, such as advanced prosthetic technology, specialized care and insurance coverage for prosthetic devices." said Patrick Flanagan, Mercyhealth Orthotics and Prosthetics Lead.

Mercyhealth is seeking healthy volunteers over the age of 40 to provide 6 vials of blood and some health information, such as name, date of birth, and family medical background. Blood samples from healthy volunteers will be compared to cancer patient volunteers in order to develop a blood test designed to detect multiple types of cancer at the earliest stage possible.

After completion of the study you will be compensated for your participation.

Cancer prevention starts at a young age. The HPV vaccine helps guard your child against cancers years down the road and is typically given to boys and girls at ages 11–12, and it can be started as early as age 9.

Contact your child’s pediatrician to learn more about the HPV vaccine.
