Interesting thought by Dr. Peter Attia discussing HRV and aging, "as we age we are losing resiliency. Even at the level of the Autonomic Nervous System we lose the ability to recover from insult. Life is an Insult! Everything in life is an insult. The world around us is insulting us all the time. It's just we can respond better to it as we're younger."

What can we do to become more resilient as we age? Many factors go into this some of which we can control and some are genetically predisposed. Finding a healthy way to deal with stress, eat a well balanced diet, limit alcohol intake, getting a good mix of strength and cardiovascular exercise are all ways to improve our resiliency. Also, consider what Chiropractic can do to maintain a good balance between Sympathetic, flight or fight, versus Parasympathetic, rest and digest.

Back from our trip to Scotland! What a beautiful country! We had such a wonderful blend of big city life in Edinburgh to the highlands of Portree and the outdoorsmen play area of Inverness. Completely made possible by the countless hours of research by my wife! The locals are “Midwest nice”, “no worries” to everything. Turns out, I love Haggis! Such a breath of fresh air. Can’t wait for the next adventure!
