One of the big life moves I made in 2023 and will continue in a big way this year is to spend more time in nature. I've been really wrapped up in domestic projects but now that the dust is settling (quite literally) I have my sights on many places for camping, hiking, and adventuring.

What's more important than the things that we do is why we do them. What obstacles are they helping us overcome and what qualities are they helping us cultivate?
I came across this quote and first chuckled and then grimly realized that the wilderness is calling me to confront some fears and limitations.
I look forward to seeing how I will continue to grow in this coming year.

How about you?

Good morning and Happy New Year! 🎊
I personally don't really feel any different. 🤪 Just like birthdays and other landmarks of time, it usually rolls by like any other day - filled with magic, possibilities, and questions...😆

Last year I poured myself into some really big and emotionally demanding feats - healing trauma, transforming my business, leveling up my parenting, tackling big house projects, making space for adventure and calm...(come to think of it I owned my 2023!!! 🤙🙌💪)

So, in order to maximize my time in this coming year, I'm going back to basics and it feels amazing.
Here's what I've got -
-Drink more water
-Drink less caffeine
-Drink less alcohol
-Exercise more - walk, bike, yoga
-Eat on a better schedule
-Designate weekly hours for creating

It seems so simple, and it is, but the ways in which simple adjustments can optimize performance in other areas can be so powerful!

So, how did you wake up feeling this morning? Are you setting out with big intentions, high hopes, and lofty dreams? Or is your plan to simply hold close your basic necessities and let the rest fall into place?

Either way, I'm rooting for you, you beautiful white witch of light and possibility!

My first meal on a quiet retreat at The Christine Center.
This is the perfect place to slow down and be intentional.
I'll spend the next two days eating nourishing vegetarian food, walking in nature, reading, and writing - all in solitude and quiet.
I'll be bringing some Zen vibes and greater clarity back.

I hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year, whatever you decide to do.

Signing off for now ...

Namaste 🙏

As bodywork therapists we help heal trauma in the nervous system...
When someone has experienced trauma, they have an easily triggered sympathetic nervous system that tries to anticipate a threat. The antidote to this hyper vigilance is trust.
When you choose to accept the invitation to relax and receive, your body, mind, and soul can restore into a state of balance.

The transition from anticipation to trust is a powerful one. Click the link to learn more about our style and book a session.

The Striegel Light Show was such a treat and a new tradition of ours. I can't believe I'd never been!
Willow liked it so much we watched it twice. It actually saved our evening as Willow ended up taking a very long nap so we were up super late with nothing open. So I made paella while she napped and took her here after.
Highlight of the season so far 🙌
Plus, they accept donations for the Human Society so you can give a little as well.

Happy Holidays, Y'all!
The best way to take it all in is to Pause and BREATHE.

It can sharpen your memory, boost your energy, and prevent a fight all at once. Plus, you might even catch a whiff of a pie baking!

😆🙌🥧🎄♥️

Stay safe and remember the love, always. 🙏

Day one on my new stationary bike followed by a yoga session.
Ever since becoming a mother (plus the lockdown shift) I have needed to be more intentional about weaving fitness into my life. It used to be much easier to get out for a ride or go to a yoga class but of course now my schedule is occupied between parenting, working, and my basic daily tasks. Plus, it simply didn't affect me as much when I wasn't intentionally exercising.
For a while I considered 'chasing a toddler around' to be enough but have recently realized that it isn't. I have been spending more time on my phone than I like, feeling restless at the end of the day, and noticing my muscle tone and stamina decreasing. (I'm avoiding mentioning my weight gain but yes, that is a legitimate reason for beginning a new routine and it's one of mine, although I rarely step on a scale.)

So, today I began a morning routine of riding and yoga to:
-Get my heart pumping
-Circulate blood flow
-Release endorphins
-Burn calories
-Kickstart my metabolism
-Strengthen my legs, glutes, and arms (incorporating weights)
-Increase my hip flexibility
-Decrease/prevent low back pain
-Feel better about myself
-Activate my appetite
-Complete a challenge first thing in the morning

I'm putting this here because I believe in the power of transparency, accountability, and manifestation.

So, in case you thought I had finished putting thought into these things for myself - the real practice is continuing to ask questions. Adapt. Pivot. Align.

If you have something you're working on - Body, Mind, Soul - I see you.
You're invited to comment with an intention or routine of your own that you want to make more powerful by stating out loud.

I often see people blame others when they don't like something about them. This looks like complaining, judging, belittling, condescending. Maybe someone has done this to you?

Have you considered holding up a mirror and asking yourself 'why does that bother me so much?' with genuine curiosity.

Every thing we like or don't like can be traced back to our own history of experience and conditioned thinking.

The world isn't out to get you. You're not a victim.

You don't need to disconnect from everything you don't like, you can actually use it as a tool to understand yourself better and overcome whatever it is that's blocking you from acceptance, forgiveness, and unconditional love. Or at the very least, become less bothered by things.

What's a pet peeve of yours? Let's start there.

If you're interested in spending time with questions like these in the company of other truth seekers, reach out to me for an opportunity to go deeper.
