Thank you to Beech Grove VFD for honoring the 911 telecommunicators who keep all of us moving, informed, and safe — even on Christmas Eve. Dispatchers truly are the first first responders, always there when it matters most, and we appreciate y’all more than you know. 🎄📻🚨
In what has become our annual tradition, BGVFD chooses to honor our local 911 telecommunications operators of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office - TX and Allegiance Mobile Health - Jasper EMS with treats and gifts on Christmas Eve.
Why? Because emergencies don’t stop for the holidays. The 911 phones, the radios, they must be answered. And they are, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. Always there, always ready.
That’s their commitment to you, each and everyone.
But that’s also a commitment to us, because as first responders, our response begins with their dispatch and the critical information they provide. Clear and concise every time.
Critical responses to critical situations, the more we know, the more effectively we respond.
The life of a 911 telecommunications operator is tough, sometimes emotionally and mentally exhausting. But they continue to show up, every hour of every day.
So why do we them provide them with treats and gifts on Christmas Eve?
Because they’ve earned it, everyday and everyone.
And we can, so we do. With thanks to Jennifer Gunter and Martha N Keith Stephens for making the treats.
It’s our way of saying “Thank You” for a job well done and our way of showing that you are appreciated.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
