1. Difficulty coordinating sucking, swallowing, and breathing
2. Frequent coughing or choking during feeding
3. Reflux or frequent vomiting
4. Difficulty transitioning to solid foods
5. Extreme fussiness or irritability during feeding

WHY WE SHOULD LET OUR KIDS CLIMB UP THE SLIDE

Why climbing the slide is just as important as sliding down for learning and physical development. It's important to remember to encourage this activity only when other kids are not going down the slide to ensure safety.

🤝 The Power of Collaboration: A Team Approach to Autism Diagnosis 🌐

Hey everyone! 👋 Let's talk about the importance of a TEAM APPROACH when it comes to diagnosing autism. 🤝

Diagnosing autism is a journey that requires collective expertise and insights. 🌈 From parents and educators to healthcare professionals, each perspective contributes to a holistic understanding.

👉 **Parental Insights:**
Parents, you are the experts on your child. Your observations and experiences provide invaluable clues that guide the diagnostic process. Your voice is crucial!

👩‍⚕️ **Healthcare Professionals:**
Doctors, psychologists, and specialists play a vital role in the diagnostic puzzle. Their expertise helps in understanding the medical and psychological aspects of autism.

👨‍🏫 **Educators and Caregivers:**
Teachers and caregivers bring insights from daily interactions, highlighting behavioral patterns and strengths. Their input aids in creating effective support strategies.

🌐 **Collaboration is Key:**
A collaborative, team-based approach ensures a more accurate and comprehensive diagnosis. It's not just about checking boxes but understanding the individual behind the diagnosis.

**Empathy and Support:**
Let's foster an environment where everyone involved feels heard and supported. Together, we can create a network that uplifts and empowers individuals on the autism spectrum.

Let's celebrate the strength in collaboration and acknowledge the role each team member plays in the journey towards understanding and supporting autistic individuals. 💪

🌟🌟Let’s talk about how swinging can help your child! 🌟🌟

✅ SELF-REGULATION: Swinging can have a calming effect on the vestibular system for children that have sensory processing differences. Think about how babies calm down from being rocked… this is the same thing! The pulling and pushing children engage in with their arms while swinging also provides input to the proprioceptive system to improve body awareness, which gives children a sense of feeling grounded and secure in their environment.

✅ BALANCE: Our bodies automatically use righting reactions and equilibrium reactions to maintain balance. Righting reactions help us stay upright when we tilt or lean, while equilibrium reactions keep us steady when we’re moving or changing positions. By swinging back and forth, and spinning on a swing you are encouraging the development of those reactions to improve your child’s balance!

✅ STRENGTH: Swinging requires the use of arm, core, and leg muscles to maintain an upright position!
