Hughes Center

Hughes Center Hughes Center is a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) Organization dedicated to providing a holistic approach to the treatment, care and well-being of our clients.

Hughes Center Corporation, a non-profit 501c3. Please find us at HughesCenter.org for more information on what made us who we are today. Our outreach program was formed out of the critical and basic need we observed in the communities we currently serve across Texas. This extension of Hughes Center provides services to the broader community focusing on goods and services such as food, household items, clothing and hygiene products. We work within the community and with community leaders to offer services, support, life skills and education to all people that include but is not exclusive to the elderly, infants and children, sick and/or disabled populations, homeless. We appreciate your support and our efforts to make our community a better place. Together WE can!

I love when people who have been through hell walk out the flames carrying buckets of water for those still in it.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, an East Texas organization is shifting the way it helps people overcome substance abuse and mental health issues. As East Texas News Weekends T’Ebonie Tanner reports, assistance is still needed and virtual counselling has helped.

Something really good happened today, we all needed to see this and to be a part of this. As some of you know, our Outreach Building, which was just getting started and had already been serving hundreds of people in true need, got the roof blown off during the hurricane. It goes to show it is just a building and the storm can't stop the human spirit.
Today, in that same tore up building... people came from all over Texas to help and serve a community they didn't even know...alll races, all religions, young, old, wealthy, poor to help each other...people they don't know in a town in the corner of Texas...just helping, and with no agenda, doing what they could...it was a goodl thing to see in this day where everything is so devisive.
God bless every one of you, we served literally hundreds of people from that tiny tore up building in that tiny town ....people came from all over east Texas and Southwest Louisiana. Thank you iServe365, they are a wonderful organization Kim Jordan-Glawson, Pastor Gary Marshall and Harvest Church for donating items and household goods. Cooking and feeding the hungry and giving water and cleaning supplies. Representative James Earl White thank you for showing up and helping out.
East Texas is generally getting overlooked in this disaster although we got pummeled by Hurricane Laura. Without the volunteers Hughes Center could not have completed the task alone...

So many good people continue showing up to help out in the community to help feed and offer support to East Texas, it will be a while getting back up and going but the town and the outreach program will continue long after this subsides. We have met some great people and made great friends. Some of us have lived next to each other for years and didnt know we were there, tragedy does bring a community together. State Representative James Earl White, US Representative Brian Babin, Judge Kenneth Weeks, Raquel Delcambre Foster who has organized so much of this. Michelle Wilkerson, Heidi Deanne Wyrick, Holly Paskey, Kim Jordan-Glawson and IServe365 for their continued support and guidance. Courtney Michelle Lott for taking care of our administrative offices while we have been boots on the ground. Jodie Smith Goff with Farm Bureau, Red Cross for sending supplies...I am not good at this kind of stuff (getting pictures out) but there are so many local men and women helping. Inez Randy Lykins. Thank you again!
