Myron W. Cost, 81 of Jasper, Georgia passed away peacefully on March 2, 2024. Myron was preceded in death by his parents Harold Cost and Zora Louise Noe Cost, his sisters Elizabeth Jane Cost Kiser, Rusene A. Rittenhouse Hicks and step son Shane T. Rippey. Myron is survived by his wife Marjorie “Jake” Cost, his sister Rebecca J. Rittenhouse Harvey, (Michael) step son Curt A. Walker (Angela) grandchildren Caleb, Hannah and Luke. Daughter-in-law Lori Rippey, grandchildren Brandy Kohler and Robert Koehler, great grandchildren Carter, Joseph “Chief”, Bryson and Bently. A host of nieces, nephews and other family members. Myron was born in Ohio and taught airplane aerobatics at Ohio State University, raced cars in Ohio and Florida. He was a dedicated educator in Palm Beach County, FL. He was especially proud of his accomplishments as Principal of South Tech Academy. Many years were spent living on a boat and cruising the Caribbean Islands as well as traveling the USA and Canada for 6 months in a motorhome. Then moving to the mountains of Ellijay, GA in a beautiful log cabin before finally settling down in Jasper, GA. Myron lived a full life with no unfulfilled bucket list items. During his retirement, his love was playing golf with the “Creepy Crawlers” at Whitepath Golf Course. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Amedisys Foundation or your local Hospice. Donna Jean Cummings, age 59, of Ball Ground, Georgia passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 11am til the 1:30pm funeral service in the Chapel of In Their Honor of Jasper Funerals and Cremations. Mrs. Cummings was preceded in death by her parents James White and Shirley Stegall Blackstock. Donna is survived by her husband John Cummings, of Ball Ground, Georgia; daughter Amanda White; son Joshua Turman; grandchildren Isaiah Turman; Elijah Silvers; stepfather Samuel Blackstock, of Ellenwood, Georgia; siblings; Denise Earls and husband Robert, of Tifton, Georgia; Samantha Patton and husband Ricky, of Rome, Georgia; Lisa Guest and husband Brandon, of Douglasville, Georgia; Gene Stegall and wife Jackie, of Dallas, Georgia; Daren Stegall and wife Mandy, of Villa Rica, Georgia. Mr. Thomas “Kenneth” Totherow, age 81 of Talking Rock, passed away on Sunday, February 11th, 2024 at Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton.

Mr. Totherow was born in Union County on April 16th, 1942, to the late James Grady Totherow and Martha Thelma Holloway Totherow. He served in the United States Air Force and was a retired truck driver for Douglas Transport. In addition to his parents, Mr. Totherow is preceded in death by his two sons; two brothers, James “Reed” Totherow and Ray Totherow; and two sisters, Marlene Hensley and Madelin Henderson.

Survivors include his brother, Douglas Totherow of Emory, TX; two half-brothers, Ike Totherow and Mike Totherow; two sisters, Sharon Dooley of Talking Rock and Louise Arthur of Emory, TX; three half-sisters, Trudy, Darlene, and Carol; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 17th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of In Their Honor of Jasper. Interment will follow in the Flat Creek Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday February 17th from 11 AM until 1 PM at In their Honor of Jasper.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association at action.lung.org in memory of Mr. Kenneth Totherow.

Mrs. Guadalupe Negron, age 66, of Talking Rock, Georgia passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024. The family is planning a private ceremony Sunday, February 18th, 2024. A public memorial service will be planned ahead allowing travel time for extended family and friends.

A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says, “Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small. Go on with your life, don’t worry about falls. I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin. Until the day comes we’re together again.”

Melissa Go Terry, age 39, of Ellijah, GA passed away Monday, February 12, 2024 peacefully at her home. She survives through her three beloved daughters, Delina Turner, Rebbecca Silvers, Madeline Turner. Her two loving sisters Kayla Freeman, Britney Turner and one brother Terry Turner. Along with four step-sisters Jessica Hughes, Jenna Hughes, Alicia Newberry and Judith Hendricks and one brother-in-law Joe Newberry. Mother being Cathy Martin and step father Ken Hughes (Pops). As well as one grandson, Marvin Enrique Osorno-Silvers; Many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Preceded in death by grandparents Joan and Clarence Martin and Betty and Elmer Turner as well as Father, David Turner and significant other Clifford Nathen Silvers of Gordon County.
