Today, Maison Teche Nursing Home honors the memory of former administrator Mrs. Linda, who faithfully served Maison Teche for five years.

Mrs. Linda was known for her compassionate leadership, dedication to both residents and staff, and the kindness she showed to everyone she met. Her impact on Maison Teche reached far beyond her title, helping shape the culture of care and compassion that continues today.

She loved celebrating residents, supporting her team, and creating a sense of family within our facility. During this Nursing Home Week especially, we are reminded of the joy and heart she brought to Maison Teche.

We are grateful for the time, leadership, and love she poured into this facility and the many lives she touched along the way.

Maison Teche is kicking off TWO WEEKS of celebration and fun starting with National Nursing Home Week followed by Nurses Week! 🎉🌸🩺

We have an exciting lineup of dress-up days, games, activities, snacks, sweet treats, and LOTS of laughs planned for both our residents and staff! From floral prints and planting activities to Louisiana pride, Barbie Day, and even a resident & staff crawfish boil… it’s going to be an unforgettable couple of weeks! 💐🦞🌈

Each year for Senior Olympics, each facility gets to pick a Golden CNA. CNAs are truly the backbone of our facility.

We are proud to nominate Lawanna Dorsey for the Golden CNA Award. For 13 years, Lawanna has been a dedicated and dependable member of the team at Maison Teche, consistently going above and beyond the call of duty in her role as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Lawanna is known for her genuine kindness and warm spirit. She approaches every resident with compassion, patience, and respect, ensuring they feel valued and cared for each day. Her gentle demeanor and positive attitude create a sense of comfort that residents and their families deeply appreciate.

What truly sets Lawanna apart is her reliability and unwavering commitment. She is someone her team can always count on—consistently showing up, stepping in when needed, and giving her best no matter the circumstances. Her dedication over the past 13 years speaks volumes about her character and her passion for caregiving.

Lawanna does more than meet expectations—she exceeds them through the care and attention she gives to each individual. Her presence contributes greatly to the supportive and nurturing environment we strive to provide.

2026 Teche Area Senior Olympics was an absolute blast for Maison Teche! 🏅💙

We couldn’t have enjoyed it more! While we didn’t take home the gold, the memories we made will last a lifetime—and that’s what it’s all about.

We are so proud of our residents and staff who showed up, gave it their all, and made this event so special.

A HUGE shoutout to our Physical Therapist, Karleigh Sigur with Cypress Rehab, for leading this event for the 3rd year in a row! 👏 We are incredibly lucky to have her and so proud of the heart, dedication, and hard work she pours into this every single year.

We also want to recognize the incredible facilities who made this event what it was—New Iberia Manor South, New Iberia Manor North, Consolata, Belle Teche, Legacy of Franklin, and Landmark. We are so proud to be part of a community that shows up like this. Your participation and contribution mean so much!

And a big congratulations to New Iberia Manor North for taking home the Gold! 🥇👏

Yesterday was one for the books at the Acadiana 500 Tricycle Race 🎉

Maison Teche rolled up as the Geri-Action Squad (because obviously 💁‍♀️) and y’all… we had an absolute BLAST. It was our first time racing—and even after our tricycle literally broke in half mid-race 😅—we still powered through and took 4th place!!

Proof that nothing can stop a team that’s used to a little chaos and a lot of heart 💪❤️

Such an amazing cause, so many laughs, and memories we’ll be talking about for a long time. Huge shoutout to Lee Ball Photography for capturing these amazing photos!! 📸
