What Is an Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) — and Why You Should Review It Every Year
Each fall, Medicare Advantage and Part D prescription drug plan members receive a document called the Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) from their insurance carrier.
This important letter outlines the updates coming to your health plan for the next year. It details changes in monthly premiums, deductibles, copays, provider networks, and even the drug formulary (which medications are covered and how much they will cost).
Why does this matter?
Because the plan that fits your needs this year may not be the best option for you next year. Even small changes—like a new copay for your specialist visits or your prescription being moved to a higher cost tier—can have a big impact on your healthcare expenses. That’s why it’s so important to carefully review your ANOC as soon as it arrives. If you find that your plan changes don’t work for you, you’ll have the opportunity to explore other options during the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 – December 7).
At Stellar Health Benefits, we’re here to help you go through your ANOC line by line, answer your questions, and make sure you’re confident about your coverage for the coming year. Your health and financial peace of mind are our top priorities.
