🌟Fun Fact Friday: Pediatric Sleep Edition! 😴

Did you know?
🧠Kids' brains grow while they sleep!
During deep sleep, children's bodies release growth hormone and their brains process everything they learned during the day. So yes- naps = brain power!
🎒School-aged kids need 9-12 hours of sleep per night for focus, mood, and memory. Not enough sleep? It can look like hyperactivity, not tiredness!
🍼Newborns sleep up to 17 hours a day, but only in short bursts. That's because their tiny tummies need feeding every few hours!
⏰Teens have a different sleep clock. During puberty, teens naturally want to fall asleep and wake up later. This is a real biological shift, not just staying up late for fun.

Fun Fact: Most kids stop napping by age 5, but some kids still benefit from naps up to age 7.

🌟Fun Fact Friday: Potty Training Edition! 🚽👶🏾

Did you know?

🎉The average age to start potty training is between 18-30 months, but most kids are fully potty trained by the age of 3-4. Every child's timeline is different-and that's okay!
🐻Fun tip: Some kids respond better to potty training when it's turned into a game or adventure-sticker charts, books, or even letting a favorite stuffed animal "go potty" too! 🎨📚
🧠 Potty-training requires brain-body teamwork. A child needs to recognize the urge, hold it, and get to the bathroom-that's a lot of steps for toddler!

💡A toddler's stomach is only about the size of their fist-so small, frequent meals are key!
Thats why "grazing" is developmentally normal and often healthier than trying to get them to eat big meals like adults.
So next time your little one skips dinner after a full snack session, remember-it might be perfectly age-appropriate! 😊

Measles is a highly contagious disease that can lead to serious complications.
Symptoms usually begin 7 to 14 days after infection.
Measles can be dangerous, especially for babies and young children.
Some symptoms may include High fever (may spike to more than 104°), Cough, Runny nose (coryza), Red, watery eyes.
It usually begins as flat red spots that appear on the face at the hairline. They then spread downward to the neck, trunk, arms, legs, and feet.
A key symptom to look out for are Koplik's Spots.
Koplik spots resemble tiny grains of white sand, which is located in the mouth 2-3 days after symptoms begin.
