Mid-October is here and for most of the mid-west that means our average UV index is no longer enough to convert vitamin D into its active form.

We recommend:

- getting your labs checked, kids and adults
- eating foods rich in vitamin D
- supplementing vitamin D if levels are significantly below a optimal level of 60-80 ng/ml depending on the person alongside vitamin K2 and magnesium
- vitamin D injections if your levels are below 35 ng/ml (we have these!!)
- working with an integrative provider to evaluate why your levels are low, poor sun exposure is rarely a sufficient explanation but changing seasons are always a good opportunity to check in with health
