Our own Professor Underwood has just retired from teaching Art & Photography here at C-N, but he is not about to stop making art or exhibiting his work! See Underwood's current solo exhibition at The Tomato Head, in Market Square, downtown Knoxville, now open 7 days a week, through July 6, 2025.

Homecoming Alumni Exhibition by Chris McAdoo! This Saturday, November 02nd! Join us for the opening reception of the solo Alumni Exhibition, by year 2000 Art major graduate, Mr. Chris McAdoo, C-N Homecoming Saturday, November 02, 2024; 9:30am to 12:noon. See printmaking, graphics, and fine art paintings, in our Michael Alvis Art Gallery, in the Warren Art Building. Chris will give a casual gallery talk during the reception, around 11:00am. This wonderful gallery in Johnson City, TN, is having a fundraiser art sale, to help the art community of the The River Arts District, Asheville, which got slammed by the hurricane last week. Last week the C-N Art Department opened the art exhibition, "Mark Flowers: Visual Jazz," in our Michael Alvis Art Gallery, with a gallery talk by the accomplished artist, Mr. Mark Flowers. Inspiring and motivating gallery talk! Excellent exhibit of dynamic, mixed-media artworks! Come see this show, on view now through October 11th. Visual Jazz! We will open our first professional art exhibition of this academic year this Thursday, September 12th, with an opening reception, 3pm to 5pm, with a solo exhibition by Mark Flowers. His show, "Visual Jazz," will include a number of energetic, engaging mixed-media works. Mr. Flowers, a retired art teacher and college art professor, is our guest artist from the mountains of western North Carolina. After this Thursday afternoon's opening, this exhibition will remain in the Michael Alvis Art Gallery through October 11th.

C-N's Professor of Art & Director of Exhibitions, Mr. David Underwood, will have a solo exhibition of new & recent mixed-media artwork, opening with a public reception 2 weeks from today, August 02, 2024, 6:30 to 9:00pm, at the Fischman Gallery in downtown Johnson City, Tennessee. His exhibit will be on view through August 31st -- go see it if you can!
