April is National Donate Life Month, an opportunity to honor donors and encourage registration to save lives. Tennova Healthcare's Sara Heatherly Lloyd knows first hand the impact one organ donor can make to someone waiting on a transplant list. Her husband Zach received a double-lung transplant after an extended battle with COVID-19 that left him close to death. After 175 days in the hospital, Zach returned home to his family and a new lease on life.

Sara says someone making the choice to give life in the midst of loss allowed more time, more memories and more moments that her family will never take for granted.
