04/22/2026

🕊️ Mr. Allen V. Ronnebaum, 87, of Columbia, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, April 20, 2026.

Allen was born January 24, 1939, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the son of Vincent and Elizabeth "Betty" (Broxterman) Ronnebaum. On April 12, 1975, he married Judith Ann Wagner, who survives at their home.

Allen was, in every sense, a man of many lifetimes. A lifelong entrepreneur, he spent his years owning and operating grocery stores, convenience stores, and restaurants, but for him, it was never just about the business. He had a natural instinct to see possibilities where others saw very little. He loved the challenge of taking something overlooked, something undervalued, and turning it into something more. Whether or not the numbers always agreed, Allen firmly believed in his vision, and he pursued it with energy, determination, and a bit of humor that those close to him came to love.

He was a hustler in the best sense of the word, a buyer, a seller, a dealmaker, and a storyteller. He worked tirelessly, often long hours, driven by a deep sense of responsibility to provide for his family. Work was not just what he did, it was part of who he was, but beyond that drive was a man known for his kindness. Allen had a one-of-a-kind presence, quick with a story, set in his way, yet possessing one of the gentlest hearts. Those who knew him will remember his humor, his quiet strength, and his striking blue eyes that seemed to carry a lifetime of experience.

He loved his family deeply and was immensely proud of each of them and their accomplishments. Though he spent much of his life working, everything he did was rooted in that love and commitment.

Allen was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. His faith was not loud or showy, but steady and present, a quiet foundation throughout his life.

In addition to his beloved wife, Judy, he is survived by his children: David (Tonya) Ronnebaum of Fulton, Jill Ronnebaum of Columbia, Timothy (Stacy) Ronnebaum of Columbus, Ohio, and Jennifer (Joe) Heath of Columbia; grandchildren: Jeffrey Ronnebaum, Shawn Nelson, Natasha Maierhofer, Vincent Ronnebaum, Dominik Ronnebaum, Madison Ronnebaum, Taylor Heath, and Lucas Heath; five great grandchildren; his brother, Donald (Marcia) Ronnebaum of Blue Springs; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Elizabeth “Betty” Ronnebaum.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the MU Sinclair School of Nursing in honor of Allen to support the Ronnebaum Scholarship in Nursing Fund, continuing his legacy of hard work and care for others. Contributions may be made online at nursing.missouri.edu/giving or by check payable to the University of Missouri and mailed to 915 Hitt Street, S403, Columbia, MO 65211. Additionally, memorials can be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society; all of which were special to Allen.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Merz officiating.

Arrangements for Mr. Ronnebaum are under the direction of TYLER M. WOODS FUNERAL DIRECTOR, 611 E. Capitol Ave. Jefferson City, Missouri 65101. (573) 636-2424. Condolences may be made to the family at www.WoodsMemorialServices.com

🕊️ With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Steven Deon Christiansen, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Steven left this world on April 6, 2026, at the age of 61, after a courageous battle with pneumonia that caused a cardiac arrest and ended up in ICU for over 3 weeks. He spent his final days in the compassionate care of the ICU team at St. Mary's hospital in Jefferson city, Mo. And for this the family extends their heartfelt gratitude.

Born October 6, 1964, in the small town of Abilene, Kansas, Steven was the cherished son of Deon and Sherrill (Hendrickson) Christiansen. He grew up enveloped in the warmth of the family, alongside his siblings, and carried the values of kindness, integrity and generosity throughout his life.

Steven's life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and adventure. He shared eight wonderful years with his devoted wife, Connie (Huff-Moore) Christiansen, whom he married on September 1, 2018. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and music, as Steven, an accomplished pianist/organist, often played the piano and organ while Connie sang - a testament to their harmonious life together.

A graduate from high school in Oklahoma, he pursued his passion for helping others by studying to become a Registered Nurse. However, his love for the land led him to a fulfilling career as a cattle rancher, where he spent many years working diligently under the open skies. His hands were rarely idle, and his skill in fixing anything that needed repair on the farm was admired.

An enthusiast of the great outdoors, Steven found peace in the simple pleasures of camping, hunting, fishing and gardening. His yard was his pride, a reflection of his meticulous nature and love for the earth. Yet, it was his ability to connect with others that truly defined him. Steven never met a stranger, and his friendly, outgoing personality was a beacon of warmth in the lives of many. His talent for barbecuing was legendary, and he often shared meals with the neighbors and friends, creating bonds that would last a lifetime.

His life was marked by service and fellowship. An Eagle Scout, he carried the principles of scouting throughout his life, embodying trustworthiness, kindness, and bravery. His faith was a cornerstone, and he was a dedicated member of the Lutheran faith where he found solace and strength.

In addition to his beloved wife: Connie; Steven is survived by two daughters, whom he was very proud of: Savannah (Carlos) Gomez and Sherry Christiansen (Daniel Adams); three grandchildren whom he treasured and found immense joy in: Asher, Amy, and Eli; as well as his father: Deon Christiansen.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother: Sherrill; infant sister: Shelley; and brother: Scott.

A Celebration of Steven’s Life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Christ The King Lutheran Church, Lake of the Ozarks with Pastor Ron Lehenbauer officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

An additional Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk, Nebraska with Pastor Mike Moreno officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Burial in Pleasant Valley Cemetery will follow the funeral luncheon after the service.

Family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable life he led. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the memories and the indelible mark Steven left on our hearts-a reminder of a life truly well-lived.

In honor of Steven's giving spirit, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, continuing his legacy of kindness and care for future generations.

🕊️ Ms. Gloria K. Berhorst passed from this life on March 31, 2026 at her home in Meta. She was born on November 10,1959 in Mary’s Home to the late Herbert Berhorst and Annabell C. (Holtmeyer) Schmutzler. She was baptized into the Catholic faith at Our Lady of Snows Church in Mary’s Home.

Gloria was a lifelong resident of mid-Missouri where she worked in the hospitality and food service business. She was a long-term employee of Bones Restaurant. She felt a special kinship to the college students she served as they gathered to study at Country Kitchen in Columbia.

Her greatest joy was her daughter Amandabelle , whom she loved cuddling with and instilled a ferocious love for reading and knowledge. In her home, no child was a stranger, and she was a mother to many even before having a daughter of her own. She will be remembered for her laughter that could be heard through walls, the gravel in her voice, a tune constantly being hummed, and her unwavering acceptance of others.

The best parts of her are still here in the way she loved so many; teaching lessons to women for generations to come. She brought laughter and excitement to many of the large family gatherings that she attended. No matter the circumstances, Gloria brought life, joy, and love wherever she went, truly a light to so many.

She is survived by her daughter: Amandabelle Dawdy of Florida; sisters: Mary Ann Walther, Betty Livingston, Dorothy Goodin and Barbara Wallenmeyer of Jefferson City; brothers: Robert Berhorst of Jefferson City, James Berhorst of New Bloomfield, and Alan Wallenmeyer of Florida; many nieces and nephews will also mourn the death of their Aunt Glo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Herbert Berhorst and Annabell Schmutzler; sister: Kathryn Rook; brother- in-laws: Adolph Walther Jr., Alan Livingston, Benjamin Goodin and Robert Rook.

The family will gather for a private service to share stories and remember the good she brought to an experience. She was loved more than she knew and will be missed by many in unimaginable ways. The world needs more loud, charismatic, and hilarious women like Gloria.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter or the Samaritan Center.

Arrangements for Ms. Berhorst are under the direction of TYLER M. WOODS FUNERAL DIRECTOR, 611 E. Capitol Ave. Jefferson City, Missouri 65101. (573) 636-2424. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.WoodsMemorialServices.com
