Yesterday, District 6 hosted its Long-Term Care Pageant in Edina, Mo. It was a wonderful celebration of spirit, personality, and community!

🏆 Bernice “Bobbye” Herzberg (Elsberry Health Care Center) was crowned the 2026 District 6 Queen.
✨ Joanne Ragan (Clark County Nursing Home) – 1st Runner-Up
✨ Nina Waller (Loch Haven Senior Living Community) – 2nd Runner-Up
✨ Carol Bridgeman (Luther Manor Retirement & Nursing Center) – 3rd Runner-Up

MHCA was honored to attend a special celebration at the Missouri Veterans Home - Cape Girardeau recognizing an extraordinary caregiver.

Margaret George, Recreation and Music Therapist Supervisor, was named one of just six national winners of the Ceca Awards out of more than 3,000 nominees. She was recognized for her compassion, creativity, and unwavering dedication to the veterans she serves.

From organizing memorable outings to bringing energy and joy through music, costumes, and activities, Margaret goes above and beyond to create meaningful experiences. As one resident shared, “She doesn’t just write it down, she makes it happen.”

Surrounded by her family, colleagues, and the veterans whose lives she impacts every day, Margaret received a well deserved honor that reflects the very best of long term care.
