Meet one of our Unit Managers, Samantha Crum, LPN! 💙🩺 She was a CNA for 20 years before becoming an LPN, and attended practical nursing school at Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Knoxville. She has been with Life Care for 5 years. Samantha was inspired to be a nurse by helping take care of her mamaw as a little girl. Samantha is very organized and a good mentor to new nurses and CNAs on the unit. We're lucky to have her! 😊

Did you know that about 1.1 million people in the United States are living with Parkinson's disease (PD)? 🌷

🧠 This progressive brain disorder is perhaps most well known for causing tremors, but other symptoms include loss of vocal volume, sleep disruptions, stiffness, and balance issues, among others.

Thankfully, there are ways to improve Parkinson's symptoms! 😀 Our therapy team offers rehabilitation services to help improve mobility, range of motion, function, and speech for those living with PD. Call us to see how we can support you or your loved one.

She worked at Life Care for 9 years as a CNA before becoming an LPN. 🌟 After a heart attack and respiratory failure, Bill wasn't quite ready to go back home after he left the hospital. He came to us for short-term physical and occupational therapies and worked hard with our therapists. Now, he has accomplished his goals! 👏

What does Occupational Therapy look like❓

It looks like someone practicing how to button a shirt again. 👔 Rebuilding the strength and dexterity to hold a coffee cup. ☕ Rehearsing the motions to prepare a simple meal and learning to use a reacher to safely pick things up without bending 🫳.

During Occupational Therapy Month, we’re celebrating the amazing therapists who help our rehab patients rebuild confidence, independence, and the skills that make daily life meaningful. 🫶
