Today, at the Roy Blunt Center for Healthcare Integration & Innovation, MBHC’s BHIDD program (Behavioral Health and Intellectual/Developmental Disability) proudly hosted its Tech Summit, which focused on advancing awareness and education around innovations in assistive technology.
The summit brings together professionals, families, and technology leaders to explore how assistive and remote support technologies can enhance independence, inclusion, and quality of life for individuals with disabilities.
Attendees will also participate in vendor demonstrations, offering hands-on opportunities to experience innovative solutions and learn how these technologies are making meaningful impacts across Missouri.
We appreciate everyone who is contributing their expertise and insight to move this important work forward.

🎙️NEW EPISODE ALERT: A Story of Recovery, Running, and Redemption

Some stories stick with you—and this is one of them.

In today’s episode of Show Me State of Mind, Matt Chinn shares his powerful journey from addiction and a life-changing moment in jail to finding sobriety, purpose, and healing through running. What started as a 20-mile-a-day challenge to support a friend grew into something much bigger—the annual Capital City Race, a community event supporting mental health awareness, recovery, and hope.

🏃‍♀️ Matt talks about:
• How running helped quiet the “noise” of addiction
• The role of community, grace, and second chances
• How the Capital City Race supports local treatment courts, Valley Hope, and families impacted by substance use and su***de
• How YOU can get involved

If you’ve ever needed inspiration, believed in second chances, or want to support recovery in our community, this episode is worth your time.

Today is World Semicolon Day. Grammatically, the semicolon signifies a pause in a sentence, not an end. It serves as a powerful symbol of hope, resilience, and the strength to persevere. This day is dedicated to showcasing hope and love for those who face mental health challenges, including su***de, addiction, and self-harm, and for the courage it takes to carry on! The 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline offers 24/7, free, and confidential support for individuals in distress, as well as prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones, along with best practices for professionals in the United States.
