On Wednesday, April 29, we recognize Denim Day—a global movement that raises awareness about sexual violence and supports survivors.

Denim Day began as a response to harmful victim-blaming myths and has grown into a powerful symbol of solidarity. Wearing denim is a simple way to stand with survivors and reinforce an important truth: consent matters and survivors deserve to be believed and supported.

At Kind Connections, we believe healing begins in spaces grounded in kindness, safety, and connection.

👖 Will you join us?
Wear denim on April 29 and stand with survivors.

💬 Drop a 👖 in the comments if you plan to participate.

Together, small actions can create meaningful conversations and change.

One of our favorite things to do at Kind Connections is connect our clients to a team of providers focused on your wellness. Mind & Body Wellness is one of our favorite partners to collaborate with! If you have been wanting to explore how medication can expand your wellness.....you have to check them out!

Behind every practice is a story — and the people who believed in it first.

Hi, we’re Alyssa and Sara, the founders of Mind & Body Wellness.

As women business owners and an LGBTQ+ couple running a mental health practice, we understand that finding affirming, collaborative care can sometimes be difficult. That experience helped shape our vision for Mind & Body Wellness — a place where people can access compassionate, respectful care without feeling overlooked or dismissed.

Mind & Body Wellness provides virtual psychiatric services across Missouri, including full psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and crisis or urgent care appointments to help make support more accessible when it’s needed most. We also work with individuals navigating neurodiversity, supporting people with ADHD, autism, and other neurodivergent experiences with understanding and affirming care.

Our goal is to provide mental health services that honor the connection between mind and body while creating a space where individuals feel seen, supported, and empowered in their wellness journey.

If you’ve been searching for care that is affirming, collaborative, and centered around the whole person — you’ve found it.

Every Mind Matters & Every Body Belongs.

If your looking for a top notch psychiatry provider, call Mind and Body Wellness! They offer a FREE 10 -min consult to see if their services are the right fit for you!

Hi, I’m Alyssa Marso, DNP, AGNP, FNP, PMHNP — founder and psychiatric nurse practitioner at Mind & Body Wellness.

I created Mind & Body Wellness with the belief that mental health care should be compassionate, accessible, and treat the whole person — not just a diagnosis. Our goal is to provide a supportive space where individuals feel heard, respected, and empowered in their care.

As a dual-certified nurse practitioner in both primary care and psychiatric mental health, I focus on the connection between physical health, emotional wellbeing, and life stressors. I work with adults across Missouri through virtual appointments to provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and collaborative treatment planning.

Mental health is not one-size-fits-all. Together, we work to find approaches that support your overall wellness and help you move toward the life you want to live.

If you’ve been considering support for your mental health, we’re here to help.

Schedule a free 10-minute consultation to see if Mind & Body Wellness is the right fit for you.

At Kind Connections, every therapist is grounded in a person-centered approach. While each clinician may grow into different specialties, therapeutic modalities, and areas of focus, the roots remain the same: empathy, authenticity, understanding, and unconditional positive regard.

These core values guide the work we do and the relationships we build with the people we serve.

Because no matter how therapy evolves, connection always starts here.

We all have our preferred counseling theories and techniques, but at the end of the day, sometimes it really does help to get back to basics with some good old Carl Rogers person-centered counseling!

Sometimes the hardest part of healing is simply finding the words for how you feel.

Kristy Mattox-Kendrick, PLPC, is here to help you slow down, explore your emotions, and better understand what your feelings may be trying to tell you. Using tools like the feelings wheel, Kristy helps clients identify emotions, build emotional awareness, and develop practical strategies for navigating life’s challenges.

Kristy works with individuals who may be experiencing anxiety, stress, life transitions, or feeling overwhelmed by emotions they aren’t sure how to name. Her approach is warm, supportive, and focused on helping clients feel seen, heard, and understood.

Therapy can be a place to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself — one feeling at a time.

Now accepting new clients at Kind Connections.

Hello April! Check out what is "in" and what is "out" for this month to prioritize connection!

Need support? Our Gottman trained clinicians are here to offer guidance for improving connection and so much more!

www.kind-connections.com

April, but lets make it more connected.
We’re leaving behind the habits that pull us away from each other and choosing small, intentional moments that actually bring us closer.
Now to the part you’re here for, how do we do that?
Well, we made something to help you do it.
This month’s Love Notes is a 30-day digital reset challenge designed to help you move from distraction to connection. We’ll send you one small prompt each day. Simple, realistic, and easy to stick with (we're talking low effort).
If you’re ready for more of the INS and less of the OUTS, this is for you.
