💜 Types of Gentiva Hospice Volunteers
1. Companionship Volunteers

Spend time with patients by talking, reading, playing music, or just being a comforting presence.

Help reduce loneliness and bring emotional support.

2. Family Support Volunteers

Provide relief to caregivers by offering short respite periods.

Offer emotional support and a listening ear to families going through difficult times.

3. Administrative Volunteers

Help in the office with tasks like filing, data entry, phone calls, or preparing mailings.

Great for those who want to support behind the scenes.

4. Veteran-to-Veteran Volunteers

Veterans provide a special level of understanding and connection to fellow veterans in hospice care.

Often involved in recognition ceremonies and support visits.

5. Bereavement Volunteers

Offer support to grieving families after the loss of a loved one.

Help with follow-up calls, notes, or grief support groups (training provided).

6. Pet Therapy Volunteers

Bring trained therapy animals to visit patients (certification required).

Help reduce stress and brighten patients' days through animal companionship.

7. Music or Art Volunteers

8. Spiritual Support Volunteers
