While many view this as a day to celebrate the unofficial start of summer, please remember those walking a journey of having lost brothers and sisters in battle both during war and also in the mental war that followed. We are not designed to endure the travesties of war yet those who served our country carry painful memories of those travesties. Let us be grateful for their service and hopeful for their healing on this day and always.

If you’re not following this page…consider it. Inspiring story of turning pain into purpose. Integrity Counseling will continue to work until our community talks about mental health like they do dental health. No shame in working toward your best self.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month
And we want to remind you: you are not alone.

Mental health is something we care about deeply on this page. John is a childhood su***de survivor, it’s how he lost his sight and sense of smell. His story is a powerful reminder that behind every smile, every kind post, every moment of connection, there may be pain that isn’t visible.

Struggling with your mental health is nothing to be ashamed of.
When you have a cold, you reach for remedies.
When you scrape your knee, you use ointment.
When you’re hurting inside, emotionally, mentally, you deserve care, too.

Your brain is part of your body. And just like any other part of you, it deserves attention, healing, and support.

There are so many paths to feeling better, therapy, community, creativity, medication, movement, stillness, laughter, rest. You are allowed to try. You are allowed to receive help. You are allowed to keep going.

We’re walking this path with you, not from a distance, but from within it.

The more we are open with our stories…the more stigma gets broken down.
Shame dies when stories are told to safe people in safe places.

As part of our mental health advocacy work, we're collecting stories and testimonies from individuals who are open to sharing their experiences with mental health and the importance of mental health policy support. These short, 5-minute virtual interviews will help amplify real voices and highlight why stronger mental health support matters. We’d love to feature you in our newsletters and social media.

Brave! That was the focus of February's interactive waiting room exercise. The question was posed: What did you do that was BRAVE recently? The answers:
-Showed up
-Shared my bad dream
-Still Alive
-Used tools when there was a bad storm and the power went out
-Got out of bed
-Shared my hurt feelings without fear of rejection
-Still trying
-I went against the popular opinion and came out on top
-I listened to my body and let it rest and didn't worry if anyone was judging me
-Stayed alive!

This month, the focus is on the concept of happy. Feel free to comment with anything brave you did. Your words may inspire someone else.
