📣 2025 CPR & Emergency Care Updates Are Here!

The American Heart Association has released its 2025 updates to CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care guidelines, bringing important changes for both healthcare professionals and everyday lifesavers. 🫀🚑

🔑 Key Highlights:

• One Unified Chain of Survival:
A single, streamlined Chain of Survival now applies to all cardiac arrest situations— across all ages and locations.

• Breaths & Compressions Encouraged:
When willing and able, both healthcare providers and lay rescuers are encouraged to provide breaths along with breath compressions.

• Improved CPR Positioning:
High-quality CPR is emphasized with proper hand placement, rescuer body position, and performing CPR on a firm surface whenever possible.

• Updated Choking Response:
For adults and children: start with 5 back blows, then alternate with 5 abdominal thrusts until the object is cleared or the person becomes unresponsive.

• Stronger Opioid Overdose Response:
Expanded emphasis on rapid naloxone use and increased public access to opioid emergency kits.

💡 These updates build upon the 2020 guidelines and introduce new best-practice recommendations aimed at improving outcomes. Training saves lives— and staying current matters.
