While we at the Southern Indiana Railroad have some Summertime blues of our own, at least we can count on the Pie Card and our Friends over at the K & I Model Railroad Club to keep us thinking and working with trains!

OK... So I know you have all been waiting for us to be able to open up the club room and have an open house. Tomorrow (06/14) would have been our normal 2nd Saturday open house... and unfortunately we are still closed.

HOWEVER... TURN THAT FROWN UPSIDE DOWN! If you are looking for train activity this Saturday (06/14/25)... K & I Model Railroad Club @ Clark Station will be open for people to come and visit from 12 noon until 4 PM. There will be trains running, and people to talk to...and all sorts of train-tastic goodness for the Train-iacs in the Area. It is a sight to see!

Who knows..you might even see a SIR member over or two there.

Unfortunately we find ourselves unable to be open this Saturday for our normal 2nd Saturday open house as the issues with the clubroom remain unresolved at this point.

It's coming down the track!

The Southern Indiana Railroad will be holding it's annual Train Show and Swap meet, Saturday September 27th.
Swap meet will take place from 10 am to 2 PM.
Layouts will be open for viewing/playing trains from 10 am to 3 pm
This year we have plans to have our HO scale layout(s), O scale trains running... along with N scale.

We have a few tables left, so if you are interested in joining our growing swap meet/sale, you best secure your tables now. 15$ for an 8 ft table, what a deal! Admission for people to enter the show is a donation to the food bank (canned or dry good, or cash).

Layout is all setup at the LaGrange Community Center for LaGrange Railfest this weekend. There will be vendors and other operating layouts in O gauge and N Scale from 9am to 5pm Saturday. Come out and see us and check out Main Street LaGrange,KY!

There will be no club activity at the Church this evening. Members should continue to check their email for updates as to clubroom status and ongoing planning for the Lagrange Railfest outing.

Well, we have some bad news. We have to cancel our open house that was scheduled for Saturday April 26th. Please share this post to get the word out there.

Last night during our normal club meeting time it was discovered that a pump has failed in the basement of the Church. We are unsure when the situation will be rectified and we can have the clubroom open to visitors again. We don't think it will take long to fix it and clean up, we are not sure it will be done by Saturday.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to your Saturday plans, if you were looking to attend.

We have however confirmed that Roundhouse Electric Trains Inc will have their layout rooms open and will be running trains during business hours.

We had to move the date because of Thunder!

Our monthly open house for April 04/26/2025. The Clubroom is open from 10 am to 1:30 pm (maybe a little later). Visitors are welcome.
We are very happy to put a throttle in your hand and let you run a train.
We are always happy to answer questions about the hobby.
Sadly, our traveling layout is not currently set up at this time, so we are limited to running trains in the Club Room.
We hope you do come for a visit! Come Play Trains!

Well we have a little bit of Sad News to report. The Southern Indiana Railroad will not be displaying it's traveling layout at the Green tree Mall Fathers Day Weekend 2025.

First of all we would like to thank Green Tree Mall for it's support of the Southern Indiana Railroad and the Model Railroading community in general. We have always had an awesome time displaying our models and helping folks reminisce about railroads. You would not believe the memories people have shared with us.

Unfortunately with things being as they are, and our commitment to being a low barrier to entry platform for folks who want to get into model railroading, we find ourselves seeking alternate locations where we might set up our layout and display on Father's Day Weekend.

How can you help?

1. Share this post. The more people know we are looking for a place to set up, the better our chances are finding a home for Fathers Day.

2. Reach out and send us Ideas of where you think we might be able to set up our layout.
