"As of the end of September, 23 people died from accidental drug overdose. That’s compared with 47 at the same time last year — a 51% drop.

Health officials point to increased recovery options, changes in how law enforcement responds to people with substance use disorder and shifting drug trends as some of the reasons why the number is down."

Clark County’s overdose deaths have dropped significantly since last fall, and health officials say they’re on trend to be the lowest since before the opioid surge that started in the 2010s.

White Flag Shelter will be OPEN at 7 PM on Tuesday, December 2.

Homeless Coalition of Southern Indiana and Nomad Church Collective have partnered to ensure that anyone in need of warmth and safety has a place to go during the 2025–2026 White Flag season. New to White Flag? Please keep reading for important information and links.

🌡️ White Flag offers overnight shelter for those in need from 7 PM to 7 AM when temperatures fall below 35 degrees during the evening hours.
🗓️ The shelter operates from November 15 to April 15.
