In honor of Veteran’s Day on Monday, November 11, all National Park Service sites are offering free entry to recognize and thank our veterans.
It’s also a perfect opportunity to get outside with your kids, explore a park, and make memories in nature! Let’s celebrate our heroes and enjoy the great outdoors.
From the National Park Service:
"Many national parks have direct connections to the American military—there are dozens of battlefields, military parks, and historic sites that commemorate and honor the service of American veterans. In addition, every national park is part of our collective identity that defines who we are and where we came from as a nation. They are tactile reminders of the values, the ideals, and the freedoms that our veterans protect."
US: "Current US military and dependents, Gold Star Families, and US military veterans are eligible to receive free annual or lifetime passes which cover entrance or day use fees at national parks, national wildlife refuges, national forests, and other federal recreational lands."
CANADA: Parks Canada offers "free admission for active members and Veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces and their immediate families" year round.
