I love Elisabeth Warren; she works so much for us. Here is what she recently researched:........Here’s a headline on that Big Ugly Bill you may have missed in all of the destruction: Donald Trump and the Republicans are giving giant corporations tax handouts to “incentivize research.” But here’s the catch: it’s for research those companies already did years ago, as far back as 2022.
As far as I can tell, these giant companies don’t have a time machine. So how are they going to incentivize research that has already happened? (Spoiler alert: They’re not.)
It gets worse. I just got some data that shows how next year, the federal government will hand out $67 billion taxpayer dollars to corporations like Tesla and Apple. To put those numbers into perspective, that is five times what the federal government spends on childcare every year.
Meanwhile, Republicans are refusing to lift a finger to prevent millions of Americans’ healthcare premiums from skyrocketing in a matter of weeks. Health care costs are already crushing families, with insurance estimated to cost $27,000 for an average family of four.
Because, yeah — Big Tech billionaires are really the guys who need handouts in this economy.
It’s maddening that Americans’ hard-earned taxpayer dollars are helping to boost corporate profits rather than fund programs that will actually help working families — and I’m not going to let up on this.
We need people in our government who fight for working people. That’s what I’m here to do every single day. If you’re able to, please chip in $50 or anything you can to support our campaign fighting to tax billionaires like Bezos more and fund more programs like universal child care so that our economy and our country work for everyone..............................>>
