Meet one of Shunya's hidden treasures: Zorraina Vargas. Zorraina has been in charge of our housekeeping duties for years. She uses only non-toxic products and tender loving care to keep our space healthy and sparkling. Zorraina moved here from the Dominican Republic 23 years ago and has three daughters, all college students. Her mother, Hilda, is still in the DR, a yogi and a vegetarian! Before Zorraina moved to NJ, she had her own fashion design studio. We love Zorraina’s joyous and dedicated spirit, her natural style and beauty!

Come celebrate the Winter Solstice with us on Friday, 12/21, a time of rebirth and renewal. Join us in a grounding practice as we set intentions, connecting with Earth and opening up to a future filled with light.

The solar new year celebration has been a popular event for many years at Shunya. It is a time for both introspection and community. Space for the 7 pm practice is limited to those who sign up in advance. You can also join us later at 8:30 pm for the Chant & Meditation.
