Sometimes we overlook how we do the little things in life- how we make our bed in the morning, how we eat (are you distracted or paying attention and enjoying the food you are eating), how we walk (are you always rushing even when you don’t need to?) , how we stand, how we speak to ourselves and the people around us. And more often than not, this then translates into how we do the bigger things in our lives - or rather that we give more importance to.
Using this principle, yoga trains you to be mindful while you are in the class and on your mat doing the poses and breathing exercises, so that when you leave, and go back out in the world that mindfulness and awareness stays - no matter what you are doing, big or small- your work, mundane tasks, interacting with your friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, etc.
