For 54 years (and counting!), Elpidio C. has proudly served Monmouth Medical Center so it's no surprise that the hospital's coordinator, Environmental Services, is so well known there that he's called "the mayor!" It was a humble start at Monmouth half a century ago for this native of Puerto Rico. Today, with a grateful heart, Elpidio shares with Mark E. This season, comfort and compassionate care remain at the center of our work, as Jersey City Medical Center introduces supportive wellness strategies at the Madeline Fiadini LoRe Infusion Center. Together with Rutgers Cancer Institute and Ceallaigh “Kia” Lorenz of Salvation Wellness, women undergoing breast cancer treatment benefit from grounding touch, guided breathing, and other calming techniques integrated into the infusion setting.

We are thrilled to share the incredible success of this year’s Annual Toy Drive! Thanks to the generous support of our corporate partners and community donors, hundreds of toys and gifts were made availableto pediatric patients at Jersey City Medical Center and throughout Hudson County.

This year was extra special: hospital staff, corporate partners, and members of the Jersey City Medical Center Ambassador Circle came together for a festive wrapping event, ensuring every gift was wrapped with care and is ready in time for the holidays. Savel, MD, MBA, FCCM, Chair of the Department of Medicine at Jersey City Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, authored a narrative review in the Rambam Maimonides Medical Journal on the growing importance of formal leadership and management education for practicing clinicians. The article examines how physicians are increasingly called to lead complex teams and organizations, often without structured training. It also outlines educational pathways that support effective clinical and organizational leadership in today’s health care environment.
