Preparing for surgery involves more than scheduling a procedure. A pre-operative exam helps review your overall health and identify factors that may need attention before surgery or anesthesia.

Pre-operative exams at NJ Primary Care may include a physical examination, laboratory testing, heart rhythm evaluation, and other diagnostic studies when indicated. These evaluations support informed surgical planning and coordination with your surgical team.

If you have an upcoming procedure and need a pre-operative exam, a primary care visit can help guide the required assessments and next steps.

Routine and annual physical exams are an important part of preventive health care.

Physical exams allow time to review your medical history, check vital signs, complete recommended screenings, and discuss health concerns with a primary care provider. Depending on individual needs, physicals may include laboratory testing, immunization review, and general health recommendations.

NJ Primary Care offers routine physicals, work and sports physicals, travel exams, and annual exams tailored to women’s and men’s health. If you are due for a physical or need documentation for work, school, or travel, a primary care visit can help guide next steps.

Blood testing is one way primary care providers monitor changes in your health over time.

Routine blood work, including Complete Blood Count (CBC) testing, can help evaluate different components of the blood and support ongoing health monitoring. Depending on results and individual health factors, additional lab tests may be recommended to provide further insight.

At NJ Primary Care, blood testing is part of a preventive care approach that supports informed health decisions. If you have questions about routine labs or CBC testing, a primary care visit can help guide next steps based on your health history.

Women’s health care includes preventive screenings and open conversations with your healthcare provider.

Cervical screening is an important part of routine women’s health care. Recommendations can vary depending on age, medical history, and individual factors, which is why discussing this with a provider matters.

NJ Primary Care offers a supportive environment for women’s health discussions, preventive care, and routine screenings. If you have not yet talked with a provider about cervical screening, a visit can help guide the conversation.

March signals the start of spring, and for many people, that also means the return of seasonal allergy symptoms.

Spring allergies can vary from person to person, which is why identifying triggers and reviewing symptoms with a primary care provider can be helpful. NJ Primary Care works with patients to develop care plans that support everyday activities during allergy season.

If allergies are affecting your routine this spring, a consultation can help guide your care options.

How often should your heart health be checked?

There is no single schedule that fits everyone. The frequency of heart health checkups depends on factors such as age, medical history, and overall health. A primary care visit allows time to review these factors and discuss appropriate screening options.

NJ Primary Care focuses on preventive care and patient education to support informed health decisions. If you have questions about heart health or routine screenings, a visit with one of our providers can help guide your care plan.

A personalized meal plan can play an important role in medical weight management.

NJ Primary Care develops individualized nutrition plans as part of a comprehensive, medically supervised weight loss program. Before starting, patients receive a full medical evaluation to identify health factors that may influence weight.

Our approach focuses on education, balanced nutrition, and sustainable habits rather than restrictive dieting. Meal planning is tailored to each patient’s health needs, lifestyle, and preferences, with ongoing guidance from our care team.
