Regular blood testing plays an important role in preventive healthcare. Blood work can help monitor organ function, blood cell levels, cholesterol, blood sugar, and other markers that may indicate early changes in your health.

A Complete Blood Count (CBC) evaluates essential components of the blood and may help assess conditions such as anemia, infection, inflammation, or immune-related concerns. Additional laboratory tests, including blood chemistry panels, cholesterol and triglycerides, kidney function tests, and thyroid testing, may be recommended based on clinical findings.

Early detection allows for timely evaluation and appropriate management of potential health concerns.

Results are typically reviewed by your provider and posted to your secure patient portal within 3 to 5 business days. If you have questions about your results, you may schedule an appointment for discussion.

Contact NJ Primary Care or use our online scheduler to book your lab visit.

Women's health needs change across every stage of life, from reproductive health and hormonal shifts to preventive screenings and chronic condition management. Primary care plays a meaningful role in supporting those needs through ongoing, personalized attention rather than one-size-fits-all appointments.

At NJ Primary Care, we take time to understand each patient's history, goals, and concerns so that care decisions are informed and individualized. Our latest blog post walks through how primary care supports women's health at every age and why proactive, preventive care matters.

Could your symptoms be related to your thyroid?

The thyroid gland plays an important role in regulating metabolism, energy levels, and hormone balance. When thyroid function is disrupted, it can affect multiple systems in the body.

Common symptoms may include:
• Fatigue
• Unexplained weight changes
• Hair thinning
• Mood changes
• Irregular menstrual cycles

A simple blood test can help evaluate thyroid function and guide appropriate next steps. If you are experiencing persistent symptoms, schedule an appointment with NJ Primary Care for evaluation.

A structured weekly meal plan can support healthy weight management and help reduce unplanned eating decisions.

Planning balanced meals in advance allows you to monitor portion sizes, prioritize nutrient-dense foods, and maintain consistency throughout the week. A practical weight management plan typically includes:

• Lean protein sources
• Fiber-rich vegetables and whole grains
• Healthy fats in moderate portions
• Regular meal timing
• Adequate hydration

Weight changes can be influenced by metabolism, hormones, activity level, stress, and sleep patterns. A personalized approach may help address these factors more effectively.

NJ Primary Care offers medical evaluation and guidance for patients seeking structured weight management support. Schedule an appointment to discuss your goals and options.

Bloating and stomach pain are not always something to ignore. Ongoing digestive discomfort can have many causes, including stress, dietary habits, hormonal changes, or underlying conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

Common factors that may affect digestion include:
• Stress, sleep patterns, and daily routine
• Changes in physical activity
• Hormonal or metabolic shifts
• Eating habits and portion sizes

If symptoms persist, medical evaluation, lab testing, and dietary guidance may help identify triggers and rule out other conditions.

Schedule an appointment with NJ Primary Care to discuss your symptoms and appropriate next steps.

Have you scheduled your annual physical yet?

An annual physical exam is an important part of preventive care. It allows your provider to review your medical history, assess vital signs, update screenings, and address any new or ongoing concerns.

Routine checkups can help detect potential health issues early and support long-term management of conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol.

If it has been more than a year since your last visit, consider scheduling an appointment with NJ Primary Care to stay on track with your health goals.

Sneezing, congestion, and sinus pressure can be caused by either seasonal allergies or a common cold. While symptoms may overlap, there are differences.

Allergies often include itchy eyes, clear nasal discharge, and symptoms that last for weeks or follow seasonal patterns. Colds are typically caused by viruses and may include sore throat, body aches, mild fever, and symptoms that resolve within 7 to 10 days.

If your symptoms persist or frequently return, evaluation and allergy testing may help identify underlying triggers. NJ Primary Care provides diagnostic testing and treatment options for adults and children.

Schedule an appointment to discuss your symptoms and determine the appropriate next steps.

Blood Chemistry and Complete Blood Count (CBC) tests provide important information about your overall health. These lab tests help evaluate organ function, blood cell levels, and markers that may indicate underlying conditions.

How to prepare:
• Follow any fasting instructions provided by your provider. Some blood chemistry tests require fasting for 8 to 12 hours.
• Drink water unless advised otherwise.
• Continue or pause medications only if instructed by your healthcare provider.
• Bring a list of current medications and supplements.

Results are typically reviewed by your provider and posted to your patient portal within 3 to 5 business days. You will receive a message in the portal with any necessary instructions. Please note that the portal is a one-way communication tool. If you have questions about your results, you can schedule an appointment to discuss them.
