Join us in recognizing St. Joseph's Day!

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of St. Joseph, our Patron. Just as St. Joseph was called to protect his family when they were forced into exile, we too are called to help those forced to flee their homelands to escape poverty and violence. Today, let us pray especially for immigrants and refugees and commit to living lives of radical hospitality and peace.

On this fourth day of Catholic Sisters Week, we’re taking a mid-week poetry break to honor the late Susan Dewitt, CSJP, and her collection “Traveling Empty.”

Sister Susan, who passed in 2020, invites readers on a holy journey through kitchens, gardens, and desert retreats. Through her poetry, Susan’s legacy of advocacy and spirituality continues to offer a roadmap for the soul.

Happy International Women’s Day and Catholic Sisters Week! We are kicking off this week by honoring our founder, Margaret Anna Cusack (Mother Francis Clare). Known as the "Nun of Kenmare," she was a prolific writer and a tireless advocate for women and children facing oppression. In the spirit of her legacy and the founding of Kenmare Press, we’ll be spending this week highlighting CSJP sister-authors who carry on the tradition of sharing vital stories, social commentary and spiritual insights.

Join with us in commemorating World Day of Prayer and Awareness Against Human Trafficking observed annually on February 8th, the feast day of St. Josephine Bakhita. Born in Sudan in 1869, kidnapped and sold into slavery, Josephine eventually won her freedom and became a religious sister. For further reflection, we invite you to read this 2015 Global Sisters Report by Susan Francois, CSJP.
