In 2023, the demand for life science facilities remains strong due to the need for new medicines and vaccines. Developers are therefore investing in new research lab facilities and renovating existing commercial assets, like warehouses and vacant retail malls, to increase speed to market. Designers are working with these clients to develop plans that meet satisfaction criteria such as budget certainty, durability, and modular systems which are committed to environmental sustainability. OKITE® are specified in these lab applications because they are cost effective, resilient and prefabricated.
OKITE® will not promote the growth of mold, mildew or bacteria and can be easily cleaned with standard disinfectants. OKITE® is a highly scratch and chemical resistance surface, compared to other products. This also means low maintenance as no sanding; polishing, or sealing is required in clinical areas. OKITE® can be fabricated into different interior finishes offsite then installed on site or as part of a module. OKITE® also contributes to LEED v4.1 green building certifications and the Prisma series contains post-consumer recycled glass.
Common applications: reception desks, office desks, patient rooms, food service surfaces, gift shop retail displays, interior wall cladding, waiting room tables, nurse stations, integrated top and sink, kitchens, break room tables, lab surfaces, thresholds and windowsills.
