Dr. Gerson combines advanced clinical training with a deep commitment to small-town, personalized care. A proud Calhoun County native, she’s honored to serve the Tri-County area - caring for the same families, friends, and neighbors who helped shape who she is today.
She earned her degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2019 after graduating Summa Cum Laude from Blackburn College, and has received multiple honors for both academic and clinical excellence.
Dr. Gerson has a special passion for pediatric eye care, believing early exams set the foundation for success in school and life. She also specializes in custom contact lenses, including scleral lenses, and provides prompt, reassuring care for urgent eye concerns.
Outside the exam room, she’s active in the Illinois Optometric Association and was named Illinois’ Young Optometrist of the Year in 2022.
She lives in Jerseyville with her husband, Brad, and their three dogs: Gus, Scout, and Stanley. When she’s not in the office, you’ll likely find her on the river, supporting local events, or working on a sewing project.
Whether it’s your child’s first exam or an unexpected eye issue, Dr. Gerson is here to provide expert care - with the warmth of a hometown doctor.

Three years ago, I took a leap and opened Great Rivers Community Eye Care - and this community made it something truly special.

Today, I’ve been reflecting on how far we’ve come. What started as a dream has grown into something I’m incredibly proud of.

To our patients - thank you for trusting us, for recommending us to your friends and family, and for allowing us to be part of your lives. In a community like ours, that trust means everything.

Your support doesn’t just impact a business - it supports my family and the families of the team members who care for you every day. That is something I will never take for granted.

I’m also so grateful for my team, who come in each day with one shared mission: to care for our patients the way we would want to be cared for. That heart is what makes this place so special.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting my small business. It is truly a privilege to care for this community, and I’m so excited to see where the future takes us.
