We had quite a few out for Bingo. Some to play some just to sit with friends and family.

We have a lovely lady resident who for the past 5 years has raised and released monarch butterflies.

The story from her daughter is absolutely adorable. Miss Joan heard about the declining population on the news and and went straight to work. She read books and books about how to manage this project she was about to start. She called her daughter with a list of supplies. And so it began.

We are setting up a small habitat out on one of our sundecks so that the residents can watch the magic happen. We will keep you all updated on the process.

Apollo 11 landed on the moon.

I know, there is speculation that this is or was a hoax.
Conspiracy theories aside, a few residents came out to watch the moon landing. We then did a little trivia about NASA and other space stuff.
We finished things off with singing,
“Fly me to the moon”, by Frank Sinatra….

Maura came in Monday to learn the ropes of the activity department.
Lesson number 1, BINGO IS #1..!!!

She learned how to use our new Bingo caller and she did a great job. We had lots of winners. She said she would love to come back and call bingo again.

Maura needed some volunteer hours for a college scholarship. Even though we helped her achieve her hours, she wants to come back just for fun. She’s a great kid. I have known her since she was a baby.
She is also the niece of our amazing therapy girl, Amy, and cousin to our cute lil CNA, Chloe.
