Help us welcome new business and new JCBA Member-Radiant Chiropractic + Natural Health 🌼

"A practice which goes beyond the adjustment and above the standard of care to encompass the function of the whole body and all aspects of health into your treatment. I find the source of the problem, discover why it happened in the first place, and develop a plan to eliminate the stressor and continue a healthy lifestyle. The practice should serve as a guide on your health and wellness journey to navigate through anything that interferes with the most full, radiant life possible. As a water skier, triathlete, mountain biker, rock climber, and lover of the outdoors and people, I want you to be able to experience life to the fullest as I have been able to. There are many barriers to this version of life, but I believe that everything is figure-out-able, and there is no reason we can’t get you where you want to go. Anything that could be holding you back we will address and evaluate to a full extent. I seek to guide and care for you so that the health and wellness radiates from within, out into the world around you." -Dr. Samantha Stackpole✨

“Have patience with all things. But, first of all with yourself.”
— Francis de Sales

Taking care of others requires a full cup of your own. This is true of all vocations, but I would like to note healthcare workers in particular. We need to practice what we preach! When we're feeling tired, achy, or burnt out, sometimes all we need is some personalized care. So, in July, all healthcare workers (in any capacity) will receive 20% off of their first visit.

Thank you for keeping yourself well so that you can keep us well.

To a healthier future,
Dr. Sammy

Who should go to the Chiropractor?: A series.

I could do this “series” for a while, but I am going to stop here.

If you are in any job, sport, time of life, and you feel that you are not living your most RADIANT life you think you can be, a chiropractor’s care can help.

We identify the stressors, help you to remove them when we can, and make your body more resilient to them when we can’t. And sometimes, that means getting you to another practitioner who can help.

No matter what, if you feel like you could be doing better, ask for help! I promise there is someone out there who is the perfect fit for your needs.

(I will definitely be asking for some help recovering from this marathon!)

To a healthier (and less sore) future,
Dr. Sammy

Who should go to the Chiropractor?: A series.

Manual laborers! 👨‍🔧 People who have to sit a lot for their jobs 👩‍💻 or people who do the same repetitive motion all day 👩‍🎨 are also included in this group.

And again, not all of these people will need to come see a chiropractor. Many hairstylists, construction workers, office workers, etc. will go their whole lives and feel great every single day, which is wonderful! But this group often incurs injury, pain, discomfort, or just general stress from jobs like these.

What I can do for you:
👉 Teach strategies on how to move and work in a way that is the easiest for your unique body structure
👉 Relieve pain to be able to focus on your important jobs!
👉 Find out where the pain is coming from (a lot of the time, it's not where you would expect)
👉 Get you back to your job and activities, so that you continue to thrive

To the people that do these jobs: thank you! And if you are ever in need of the services we offer, I am happy to help.

Who should go to the Chiropractor?: A series.

Next up: athletes! Another one of my favorites.

Athletes put their bodies through a lot. And because of their competitive nature and ability to tolerate pain, lots of times don't even realize they could be doing a lot better!

When I'm training for anything, I love getting treated just because I feel that it optimizes my body for competition, even if everything is feeling great. And when it's not feeling great, I REALLY like to get treated so I can get back to it as fast as possible.

Athletes tend to know their bodies well, which makes it fun for me because we get to dive deep into the specifics of gait, lifting and running techniques, optimal equipment, and SO much more.

So, what are you training for? What athletic or daily activities could you be doing with more ease? Walking? Getting up and down off the floor? Squatting to pick up something off the ground? Let's optimize it, so you have more energy for everything else throughout your day.

To a healthier future,
Dr. Sammy

Who should go to the Chiropractor?: A series.

Some say: "anyone with a spine!" which could be true. But really, does every single person need to see a chiropractor to live a fulfilling life? Definitely not! However, lots of times chiropractic can help with more than you think.

Let's start with one of my favorite types of people: kiddos!

They're so full of life and energy and are very resilient, generally. So, why would a child need to come see a chiropractor? Chiropractic as a whole deals with stressors that are too much for the body to handle. In the case of kids, this could be:
- intense sports
- tumbles and falls
- other physical stressors
- foods they're not able to digest well
- inactivity
- allergens

Signs and symptoms that arise from some of these stressors:
😕 attention difficulties
😕 irritability and moodiness
😕 pain
😕 digestive troubles

All of these things can be addressed by a chiropractor! It's summertime now, so let's make sure all the kids in and around Jerseyville are all set for long days of playing outside like they're designed to do. There are already lots of bikes all around, which makes me SO happy to see! 🚲

I was recently reminded of the importance of gratitude. Not only does it improve our perspective and help our minds focus on the good, it could actually improve our health as well.

This systematic review looks at many studies on gratitude; some notable findings:
🌼can help improve SLEEP (quality and time)
🌼shown to lower blood pressure (ambulatory)
🌼measured reduced inflammatory markers
🌼improvements in glycemic control (blood sugar regulation)

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE:
- write down 3 things (or more!) that you are thankful for every night before going to bed
- when things seem tough or frustrating, search for a silver lining
- remember that God can use all things for good!
- take some time to appreciate nature and all it offers for us

Three things that I am thankful for today!**
1. These beautiful flowers that I've had in the office
2. My body that gets me where I need to go (and further!)
3. Family and friends that make me feel truly loved and supported

(**It's tempting to say: "I don't have any of these things, my life stinks!" But I guarantee you that you have your own things to be grateful for today.)

I challenge everyone to write three things you are thankful for every day for a week! It feels great, and it might even make you healthier.

“It is not the answer that enlightens, but the question.”

Do you have questions about your health that you haven’t gotten answers to?

While I cannot promise to offer a fix for all, I can promise to
▫️listen,
▫️give you the time and attention you deserve, and
▫️provide the best treatment possible.

And if the answer is somewhere outside this office, I can assure you that I’ll put you in the hands of someone I trust and from whom I would receive care myself.

If you have questions about your health please ask someone that you trust, even if it’s not me!

“The power to question is the basis of all human progress.”

“Why do I get headaches in the morning?”
“What is the next step I can take to better my health?”
“Why do I feel less energized some days?”
Just a few examples of the questions I can help you find the answers to.

To a healthier future,
Dr. Sammy
