Today is a day of hope!

The Hope Works Litter Abatement Program, a partnership between the Friends of the Hot Springs Community Resource Center and the City of Hot Springs,
officially starts NOW!

Through Hope Works, five individuals from our unhoused community have been hired to work four days a week for eight weeks, helping keep Hot Springs clean and beautiful while taking meaningful steps toward stability in their own lives.

For the next eight weeks, theyโ€™ll be working, saving money, and building toward their future. If they save up to $350, the PATH program through Ouachita Behavioral Health and Wellness will match their savings! They are also being provided temporary housing during the program so they can focus on saving and preparing for the next step.

While they are working, theyโ€™ll also spend time at the CRC building resumes, preparing for employment opportunities, and developing the tools needed for long-term self-sufficiency. By the end of the program, we will help each participant transition into an apartment that fits within their budget, creating a pathway from temporary housing to a stable home.

This program isnโ€™t just about picking up litter.

Itโ€™s about dignity, opportunity, and the belief that when people are given the right support and a chance to work toward their goals, real change is possible!

As this new chapter begins today, we invite everyone to join us in sending encouragement and positivity to these individuals who are taking courageous steps toward their future. And as you enjoy a cleaner, more beautiful Hot Springs, know that hope and hard work are walking those streets together.

For the past month, our clients have been creating these pieces in Art Therapyโ€”each one representing a story of healing, growth, and redemption.

This past Sunday, as these pots were placed in the church foyerโ€ฆ the message that morning spoke directly to what had been created:

Brokenness.
Healing.
Restoration.

No one planned it.
But God did.

What was once broken is not thrown awayโ€”it is restored with purpose, with beauty, and with meaning.

At SOZO, we see this every day.
