I serve you throughout your labor whether that is just my presence, hands-on physical support, helping your partner support you, or words of encouragement. I am a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to a mother before, during and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible. Every mother has different needs and a doula is there to support mom in whichever way is best for mom. For some, a birth center is an ideal place to give birth, while for others it may be at the hospital or even at home. We want to support each woman in whatever she feels is best for her and her family. Doulas are advocates and can help provide information, but are always respectful and non-judgmental of a mother’s choices. Studies have found women to have a decreased risk of cesarean section, shorter labors, less use of epidurals, less use of Pitocin, and increased satisfaction in women with a doula. But I have a midwife! Doulas and midwives work as a team to support you emotionally and physically. The doula is able to completely focus on supporting you even at times when the midwife is focusing on tasks and support related to you and your baby’s clinical well-being.

WHEN YOU INVEST IN YOUR BIRTH EXPERIENCE BY HIRING ME, AS YOUR DOULA, YOU WILL GET:

• A Doula who provide professional support, including 2 customized prenatal meetings, Unlimited phone consultations throughout pregnancy. 24 hour on-call availability during your due date range (4 weeks).

• A Doula who is experienced, educated, and completely comfortable within all the local hospitals.

• A Doula who will be professional with the Doctors, Midwives, Nurses, and Staff at local hospitals and establish trust and validity.

• A Doula who are available to answer all the questions that you have about pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period. You can be confident in knowing that I will give you up to date and factual information.

• A Doulas who understands what their role is, and how to provide consistent care that helps you to feel secure.

• A Doula who support ALL your choices for your birth and parenting.

• A Doula who will work alongside your partner/dad. I always will encourage the role in which your partner and you agree he will provide. I will never take his role, but help to provide family centered support as you go through labor and birth.

• A Doula who have the knowledge and experience in how to help you write an effective birth plan.

• A Doula that provide support in whatever environment you are choosing to labor in. I provide physical comfort measures, breathing techniques, and continuous unwavering emotional support as you go through labor and birth.

• A Doula that will provide support after your birth that helps facilitate bonding. Also nursing support if you are choosing to breastfeed.

• A Doula that will meet with you to see how your postpartum period transition to parenthood is going, and provide any local resources that you may need.

•As your Doula, I too, can provide professional labor and delivery photography. Photographing these special moments can be something that you will cherish forever!
